We don't support Everton because of the ****ing glory do we? The glory just comes with being a classy, grand old team.

I've followed Everton since I was a young boy - I can't remember Ball (well vaguely), Young etc but I was there in the late 60s and ever since. I took my lad (born just after the last title win) when he was about 4. I know one of the first games we went to was a 5-3 drubbing by QPR (yeah, 5-1 down and we left - you have to get your little ones away safely from the ground).

Moving on a few years and, after serving his apprenticeship on the occasional 400 mile round trip game we get another season ticket (still 2 years away from moving back up to here) - still travelling every game 400 mile round trip - and, guess what, his first Derby match we win 3-0, THREE F**KING NIL over the sh1te and I'm kind of jealous for that, but hey, it's not about the trophies - feel the love - he does all my shouting at the game now.

Today is why you are a blue. When you support a succesful club like Man U, winning is expected and is the norm, so a win isn't met with any greater joy, but an unexpected defeat is crushing. United are odds on for the title, and we are weeks away from the season end, I'm sure they will celebrate, but again it's expected. But do they ever feel the euphoria that was around the grand old lady today? When Jelly's goal went in, that sense of relief and sheer joy emanated around the ground, the 70+ guy next to me was punching the air, had we won the league, the cup, qualified for Europe? No, it was just a win, but as someone said, when your a blue the lows are painful but the highs are unmatched. Football is about passion, it's about highs and lows, it's not about the latest trendy or rich club. Be proud to be an Evertonian!

amen you beautiful people. me and the mrs were taking out our lads (6 & 2) and what we want them to be when their older and that kind of stuff. mrs kept saying I want them to be musicians like us and I said I couldn't give [Poor language removed] as long as they're evertonians!!! the eldest, caleb is already brainwashed and the youngest max shouts Everton every time we go past the tower. they have all 3 kits this year, bought at full price (thanks kitbag) because caleb wanted them, fair enough. whatever caleb has max wants. if I was rich enough I'd buy the club if they wanted it. god bless my arl fell he was a red and still took me to goodison, it was just in me from day one. I went to 3 games in the 87 league winning season, I was four, can't remember much but the crowd. the crowd ffs, every time I walk into that ground, I feel like crying, every time I hear z cars before the game I clap so hard my hands go numb. the greatest day of my life will come when I take both lads the game. caleb's well versed in my occasional football swearing as we call it, "it's alright at the match mate". we have our own little traditions, we live 2 mins from the ground but we get there early, buy the programme and he's started collecting the game day badge aswell. I WOULD NOT CHANGE MINE OR MY SONS LOYALTIES JUST FOR A TEAM PHOTO WITH A TROPHY BY THE MANAGER'S FEET.

after yesterday had me thinkin is it worth bringing my son up a blue he is 3 today i live down south i cant c how we can ever get to enjoy watching everton as father and son winnining something its the same every season bottle big games only good when no pressure on us thats why we finish strong cos we normally have nothing to play for but this season when we did start well and people talk us up we fold

If thats what you are thinking we are better off without you as supporter(s).

There will be many things and people in life who will let your son down as he grows up. One thing he can be sure of is that as a Blue he will always be part of the best Family he can ever have - a belonging and a pride that so many deluded fools who support other plastic and poor excuses for a Football Club can never give him.

Bloody hell, what would I talk to the auld man about if it wasn't for Everton,

'Well son, what's on your mind...'
'What?'
'Lets share our thoughts'
'Ahhhhh, you're scaring me here, I must leave now'

Everton's a reason to pick up the phone or go for a pint and complain about the world or share joy

Any father who hugs their son anywhere except in a football ground should be arrested.

When me bird asked me if I love her more than Everton I said no cause Everton will always be there you might not. Went down well.

I took my 9 year old to first home game yesterday as i live in Kent. We sat upper gwladys and when the 3rd goal went in the tears were streaming down his face and i looked at him and was transported back in time to me at his age. As i was consoling him a fellow blue behind me put his arm around him and said "don't cry lad, welcome to the world of an evertonian " and i saw my boy look at him and it was like he understood. He got it. I said to myself this is what we do , we take the **** with the good nomatter what. My son came away from that game with a better understanding of everton then if we had won. We are everton and i will stand with my son for years to come watching us , good or bad. So you take your son to Chelsea if its closer and you watch a classless club because we are Everton and we are by far the greatest team the world as ever seen!!!
I wrote this last week in mourning and while the disappointment of last week is still there i was able to watch the game yesterday and turn to my boy yesterday and say that's Everton !! The real Everton . Just gutted i picked the wrong game to take him to !!!

You only have to read the threads on here to see the difference in us. Negatives and positives(me), alays arguing but and the end of the day(11.59) we are true supporters and we love our team in many different ways, that is our strength, we are brothers(and sisters). COYB
