My 50kg weight loss challenge

9kg is 19.8 pounds (lbs). in under a month? sounds dangerous.
Yep that's according to the scales. I also thought and read it's a lot of lose, but I feel absolutely fine, am playing a lot of sport and am not starving at any time or feeling dehydrated. I'm at the start of the medication though, soon it'll likely level out or flatline...

It is on your heart - you have to be careful - lose your weight gradual - if you are using a jab - that will or should lessen your demand for food - Never worked for me, as I personally could not cope with the side effects hospitalised me - but works for some - I prefer Egg zempic - & stick to 2 meals a day - my son has lost 2 stone in 3 months by just cutting out the bad foods ....

Yes you have to be careful definitely. I'm certainly eating extremely cleanly, getting enough protein to lose fat and not muscle, eating small amounts of good fats (avocado, few sprays of extra virgin olive oil for cooking), massively cutting back on the carbs, and drinking a lot of water.

Regarding side effects, non noted here.

Honestly if I'd have just eaten like this for the past 5 years I'd have the body of a Greek god. 😄

Thanks very much.

It's a good question tbh. The mounjaro is supposed to cut out the 'food noise' and suppress the appetite and it's definitely done that for me.

I'm in a habit of eating about 100g chicken for breakfast with a one egg plus two tablespoons of powdered eggwhite omelette, can of drained sardines with a bit of couscous for lunch with veg, and some high protein, low fat yoghurt with frozen berries and a scoop of protein powder later in the day.

I'm in a calorie deficit of around 1000 calories a day, often more.

But yeah: Before this I was massively boredom eating, ordering far too often on food apps, and making myself far too big portions. Could barely control myself and it was getting worse.

Now I don't have the urge to order a pizza, grab some chocolate at the supermarket or wolf down something shortly after I've just eaten, so I'm guessing that's the medication doing its thing!

Still some way to go though, although most people think I could easily stop at 80kg, I want to lose more.

I do want to get back to eating the odd bit of fast food and not counting calories every day, so that'll be the challenge.
a pound of fat = 3.5k cals

1000 daily deficit over 30 days = 30,000 cals total

19.8 lbs * 3500 = 69300 cals

your numbers do not stack by as much as even half.

30000/3500 = 8.57 lbs. In a month this seems much more likely. Though still incredibly strenuous.

I've been burning loads of calories through loads of sport and time in the gym every day, and so far over the past weeks I've not consumed more than 1200 calories in a single day.

At a guess I would say I'm burning 400 calories through gym on a bad day, and up to 1000 on a good day with sport added.

In any case the weight is down 8kg.

I'm probably on the extreme end of things and should be eating a lot more, but my numbers in terms of protein, healthy fats etc are all hitting what's required each day.

call it 20lbs in 4 weeks. its 5lbs a week. 5/7th of a pound a day, every day. 5/7*3500=2500 deficit a day. so consuming X then burning part of that off down to 1k (cals) a day. Have you got silver lines on your skin? one of the visible side effects of sudden extreme weight loss is silvery lines deep in the tissue, usually around the areas where built up fat were.

Don't forget perhaps 2kg of that could easily be water weight, the rest fat.

No lines because I was never massively fat — just the belly is getting a lot smaller.

In any case, the scales and mirror tell me the story, so I'm happy and got a little while to go yet!

@the golden visionary how's it going?

Personally I'm down 9.5kg on my own weight loss journey, weighed in at 82.05kg this morning which felt great.

Have to add that I'm using Mounjaro to help me, but I'm also eating very strictly, weighing out everything I eat, making much better choices, off alcohol, and very active both playing sport and going to the gym.

Hope you're still smashing it, give us a check in so we can hold each other accountable!

Hello mate, ive been in the midst of a plateau over the last couple of months. Had a bit of an illness aswell so been getting checks and probes prodded all the good stuff. Had a biopsy on my colon a few weeks ago. Just been eating to my calories out of my fat club book and hoping for the loss to kick start again.

Ive also decided not to more the life out of you all by posting that I lost a pound one week put it back on the next so ill be updating on milestones. 145 140 etc.

Good thing is my shape is changing and clothes are fitting better so something is happening. Which is probably from the food I'm eating not spiking my insulin levels

Hope you're on mend mate. You've done well so far and yeah, keep up those updates! It's nice innit when you can start wearing those clothes again that were previously bursting at the seams.

Hoping all your medical stuff comes back clear and you can crack on with things. 👊🏻

5'10.

Been sporting a little potbelly for far too long and boredom eating—despite being very active in sport—meant it was impossible to lose it.

Trying to get into new habits now and get into the shape I should have been in years ago.

Already a big visible difference, which is great.

Although I've only been on the diet less than a month, already 9kg down and want to stop and maintain around 75kg or 12 stone.

Hoping to achieve that by the middle of June, then the real hard work begins now to put it all back on.
Was it a doctors recommendation? Not sure how these jabs are administered sorry. I’m about your height (I think) I’m around ~70kg depending on the day. I haven’t weighed myself in years. I use my double chin and jeans as a more comfortable measure.

Brilliant, well in and hope you feel better soon. Spring is in the air and you’ll have a bit of a spring in your step.
