Besic > Cleverly, anyone who can't see this lads potential doesn't need to be considered anymore, he could be a top class CM, he just needs game time to learn his position a bit more, he won't get that at everton, martinez is literally in love with barry macarthy and cleverly, Besic has no chance no matter how well he plays, and it pains me

You realize you started off by saying Besic is less than Cleverley, right?

Martinez bought him remember

martine does a lot of things for the long term benefit of the club, whether he can get over himself and his love for certain players over performance will determine how far he goes as a manager, i hope he does as the man clearly has a long term vision
Agree. Besics is coming back from injury. Genuinely believe that Martinez views Besic as long term replacement for Barry.

A very promising display. Very Gennaro Gattuso like, and in my books (especially with our defence) there is always room for that type of player. BUT the comparisons with Barry and people calling for Barry's head is a joke..... a joke.... he's been our best midfielder this year. Don't let age and pace fool ya. I'm wrapped with Besic's performance and hope he kicks on, but I have no doubt if Besic had Barry's spot from round 1 we would be in a relegation battle; thats how important Barry has been. Barry and Besic, not Besic over Barry, is good for Everton Football Club.

Err, you've complained about Barry being immobile, not getting back fast enough, his tackles being too robust/late and generally claimed he has little effect on the game - if those comments are you praising someone's individual performances I'd hate to see a critical review!

What exactly do you think the partnership of Besic and McCarthy would bring? Have to confess they seem a bit too similar to me at this point in time to play as a midfield two although in some of the tougher away games think they would be good.

Well, for this season i would have them together but i personally think we need a really top CM signed up.

What we need are clean sheets and much more energy when not in posession to get the ball back and stsart passing again...rubs off on the whole team like yesterday when the two in the middle play at a high tempo.

ive always said besic reminds me of gattuso and someone else made th same comparison, in fact these two could be like parkinson and horne for us but a higher level...allowing the wide players to have more space as well as we should dominate the CM with two guys like this.

Next season i would like to see a deep playmaker brought in and then we can change tactics a bit rather than having that oaf barry clattering people all game then huffing and puffing after 60mins when he needs his inhaler (just kidding).

barry is too slow in this team i think, playing well but doesnt add to the team other than as an individual...id rather see two players with high energy high tempo in there.

Only one game... Not even a whole match ... But shower energy and actually gave us a bit of bite .. Made a difference and would prefer him to start against City ... The team that finished Spurs... Should start the next game.. Unless jags is fit enough to start ..
