He's the doomed boy at the beginning this season as was Barkley and later on McCarthy last year. Still thinking it's not normal for the players to get these injuries again and again and again..... Looks like someone doesn't do his job well. And by someone I mean medical staff...Can't get that Baines re-injury out of my head, I think that's for example absolut abnormal.

unless another player snaps someones leg no injury is 'bad luck' -- only a dinosaur would think that way.

repeat hamstring pulls arent becasue we're cursed. it's because someone isn't preparing the players right.

i've heard a lot of managers don't include sprints in physical conditioning in training. of course your players are gonna pop a hammy when they plod around all week then are suddenly expected to do repeated flat out bursts for 90 minutes

Yeah. He was definitely holding his hamstring. He was able to play on for a couple of minutes though so hopefully it's not a bad one.

another sign of idiocy in football.

you hurt a hamstring, you're off. unless it's a world cup knockout or a league decider or something you dont try and play on. it's happened to us with McCarthy and Geri. bllody stupid

look at callum willson for Bournemouth. lad's likely done a cruciate, or some serious damage to the ligaments round his knee and he or the physio/manager has decided the best course of action is to 'run it off.'

amazing how football is so far behind something like athletics when it comes to sports science and training methods when the pay gap at every level and for everyone involved is a chasm apart

Gravesen was good but a liability at times. Lee Carsley must have shed about two stone while TG was here running all over the shop putting out fires where he was supposed to be.
Very true. It was also always handy to have someone to drop back whenever Tommy would go on one of his surging forward runs, since he invariably lost the ball and we would then face a counter attack.

*Bookmarks these sound posts for the next time someone claims McCarthy will never be a proper footballer until he deserts his post to go marauding forward in search of 5-6 goals a season*

Thank God you're here to tell top-level medical professionals they're wrong

It's all gone a little pear-shaped with Mo, hasn't it? Not his fault, but he's really been hampered with injuries, etc. Thought this would be the season that he'd make it into the first team. Hard to see that happening at the moment. The replacement for Barry?

Theres also some rumours of some personal off the field issues.

Nothing bad from what I can gather, but its a shame, he could really have kicked on this season, but his chances will be limited due to how well Barry is playing and the signing of The Clev.

Hopefully he can get fit and start pushing for a place soon.

I know I go on about the lad, but honestly he plays football how I like football to be played, hes fearless, love players who just go on the pitch and show no fear, defensively and offensively and he can play with the ball at his feet. If he was given an extended run in the team he would shine, but sadly, its unlikely he will be given that run while Barry is around, no issue with that currently, Barry is earning his place.
