If Besic had been given more game time and learnt a bit more there would be no more debate, Barry would be benched.

I'd rather put besic in the side now than risk him leaving because he will, I think he's a cracking little DM talent, and I love his nasty side, exactly what we need in our team.

We should be building for the future, McCarthy has played enough with Barry to have the experience now to be the organiser in that midfield.

Besic and McCarthy could be a brilliant base for the midfield for many years.

Maybe in a year or so but on this seasons form mccarthys been so so. If besic cuts out the rashness and odd brainfart hes a more complete player, id have him partnering barry instead

Inclined to agree with this. The passing range of Besic is far superior and he seems to put himself about even more than James does, but with more emphasis on striding out of defence too.
