I think he's just as capable of keeping the ball as those two. But he would bring more energy to the midfield than either of them could.Think Osman is the closest to a Pienaar we got. That's why Martinez put him on instead of Pienaar, he didn't want to change anything in his gameplan so early on. Think Besic should have come on instead of Atsu in the last minutes.
Think Martinez wants to give him an easy start, maybe some league cup or EL-games before PL.I think he's just as capable of keeping the ball as those two. But he would bring more energy to the midfield than either of them could.

I think you're right, although when we were 2-1, I really thought he was going to bring him on to lock down the lead.Think Martinez wants to give him an easy start, maybe some league cup or EL-games before PL.
I'm curious to see Besic in meaningful action as well, but honest question:
Given the team's continuing struggles to defend set pieces, why is everyone clambering for the individual who is presumably our most foul-prone player to be subbed on to see out a close game?
I am Bosnian and it's annoying me as well. Mostly kids though, I would not pay attention. Is noone else getting annoyed by the amount of Bosnias spamming,Twitter,Facebook and this forum say things like "No Besic no three points" etc, listen lads we've been getting three points long before Besic has arrived and will be getting them long after he leaves,I understand that your happy to have a player at a club as prestigious as Everton but just pipe down a little!
Why would a player who's just starred in a World Cup need to be eased in gently against a lesser opposition???Think Martinez wants to give him an easy start, maybe some league cup or EL-games before PL.
because international football is not premier league football. There will be an adjustment as the player gets used to the intensity of the league and the managers system. Why would a player who's just starred in a World Cup need to be eased in gently against a lesser opposition???

Don't ask me. Ask Roberto. But I think it's wise. He is a completley new enviroment, in a new leauge in a new country. What if he get a red card or gives the ball away to a goal in his first game, and it is against Arsenal and we lose because of that. How easy would it be to contiue play after that? Better to play against some easier opponents in games with lower hype, build your confidence and take some pressure off. Just look at the good players Tottenham brought in last season that couldn't handle the pressure and change of enviroment and therefore didn't play well. Why would a player who's just starred in a World Cup need to be eased in gently against a lesser opposition???
