This article on Sky Sports says the fee was £4.8m. First time I've seen that figure.

I had offers from several European clubs, but I had a desire to come to the Premiership and a club as Everton. For years I've been waiting for transfer to a big club and it finally happened. Roberto Martinez was one of the main reasons I choose Everton and I can play in any position that coach wants me to. I'm absolutely sure that Muhamed made the best possible move after the WC, actually around 90% of football fans in Bosnia wanted to see him in the blue jersey. Wish you a successful season and lots of Muhamed's appearances on the pitch.

Greetings to everybody, ..yet another freshly baked bosnian supporter of Everton here. I just wanted to say that Besic made the right choice and that I've got a strong feeling Everton will be on the rise this season; especially now that Lukaku is also on board. He showed very much fighting spirit in the world cup and his thirst for goals was almost tangible. I'm expecting no less than wonders from Besic in terms of defense, but we bosnians don't have many players and we are biased like that. I just hope that he can channel his aggressiveness on the pitch in the right way, meaning no cards for behavioral issues.
