It works out at about 1million pounds mate, ain't nobody passing up on 1m quid.

You say they are set for life, but they don't live their lives the way we do and next year he will be probably earn less than 10k a week, then in 3 or 4 years he will be earning ZERO quid a week.

Its a very short career, so if some mug club is gonna pay me 40k a week to sit at home, I'm taking the 40k a week.
I know he is your hero but you’re finding excuse for him. To move on at least on loan gives a player much need game-time. These players would probably still get the same salary only for the loan clubs to take up a portion of the original contract here. To sit your azz and running down a contract without wanting to leave on loan is questionable. Of course leaving on a free will probably get you a better signing on fee but to give up playing for a full season is very odd. He will probably go down to the routine as Martina and Niasse. Why would any decent club in the top league will want to sign a player without playing for one full season?

Hes not my hero, he hasnt been for a number of years now.

Im just looking at it from a money POV and hes doing what is best for his family.

Earning more money than he would get elsewhere is the best thing for his family, him going and playing football somewhere, potentially getting injured and being without a club and injured in May is not the best for him.

Bolaise hasn't moved cos he wants to play football, hes moved cos he needs to secure another payday and his age it will be harder than for the younger Besic.

The club was stupid enough to give him the contract, why wouldn't he honour it?

You are missing the point. We can’t tear off a contract all of a sudden. Say player like Bolasie and many others here, go out on loan and getting game-time and financially they won’t gain less are they? The contracts with Everton still exist. The difference is the loan clubs will pay a portion of the salary of which he gets game-time and the temporary switch will only benefit to his own career and also that will be beneficial to our account sheet. You are basically saying a player who is deemed not to be good enough for a club should sit his azz to avoid injuries when he’s running down his contract. This reason is invalid because it’s actually will be harder for a player to get a new contract elsewhere without playing for a full season. See Martina and Niasse etc.

If mo was given the opportunity to play for us again, 110% he’d play. We’re the ones who offer large sums of money out on lengthy contracts, same with ozil at arsenal, it’s not his fault he’s not been selected but why should he leave for less money when he’s been given a very good contract? If I was given a lucrative deal over a small one I no which one I’d do as we’re all human and want money for our future

These players going out on loan won’t get paying less are they? Just the loan club take up % of the contract here. Of course you won’t know whether you will do good or not at the loan club which may have an impact on your next move.

Everton FC remind me of one of those 'amazing' job creation schemes of the 1970's.

Paying People for no real work.

The likelihood is Everton would have wanted him to take a pay cut to go out on loan like they did with Lossl last season and tried to do with Bolasie at the start of this. I don't blame Besic for staying put as if Niasse and Martina are anything to go by there may not be another contract. In his position with no affiliation to the club I would do exactly the same.

Mate I don’t see that is beneficial to our account sheet. If we get a player out on loan and get the loan club to pay a portion of the salary we still win. Having a player here, rotting in the reserve, we pay him the full amount of the original contract, we lose.

I agree but the club seem to want the player to take a wage cut as happened with Lossl. So in this case you can't blame Besic.

Don’t know but most football players will want to play no matter it’s the Championship or the SPL. I just don’t see the sense of asking a wage cut (of course like you said they may have done that with Lossl?), Rather, getting part of their salaries paid by others is a win win situation.

He went on loan to Sheffield United and hardly played so maybe he is not wanting to go somewhere and be stuck in that situation. Look at Gibson on loan at Reading.

Will be interesting to see his next career move. Generally having not played for one full season will not do him any good when finding a new club.
