..I like the lad, he’s a good footballer, but there are plenty of good footballers and I think we need better. We need to be progressive and this blokes injury record alone should result in him being part of the cull.

We need to keep Mo if he's going to stay in one piece as he'd be the best DM/CM we currently have. He can do everything at that position unlike the rest of them who are only good at one thing and generally hopeless at everything else.

Also who doesn't love a CM who will stick the boot into anything that breathes? lol

Said it many times, our best centre mid when fit.

Don't personally agree, although not saying it's an outrageous claim or anything.

But out of interest, why do you think he's our best CM?

From what i've seen of him, he's shown in certain games that he has ability but in others he's not done enough. He only ever seems to put in a run of 7 or 8 games (or at least that's what it seems like to me) before then getting injured so I just don't think he's shown enough in his time at the club.

Talent wise I think he’s the best. He has defensive positioning but also creativity in attack, he could literally play any of the 3 midfield positions (he was playing attacking mid for Boro!). He can pass off either foot, he always tries to take it on the half turn and play forward, he’s aggressive and seems to have a real desire to win. The level he was at when he played the semi final v City was higher than anything any of the other midfielders have produced in their careers.

I don’t see any other midfielder in our squad as rounded as him. Most seem to be just ok at maybe one thing and severely lacking at everything else.

I would keep him as he can play CB. It allows us to move Morgan, eventually McCarthy, and not be afraid to move on Williams and even Jags.
I didn't see yesterdays game but by all accounts he played well. There's no doubt he has it in his locker and I think he's been really unlucky with some serious injuries since he's been here. I would be happy to see him given another chance by the new regime if they see fit, I think he has everything to become a very accomplished complete central midfielder.

However I wouldn't have him within a million miles of centre back.

That time he drove with the ball through midfield and no-looked a pass to Klassen is what we badly need in a player. Schneiderlin can't do that, we'd still have been passing it around the back with him there. Barkley did it to a certain degree.
