Have to admire Middlesbrough.

They've played us very well.

Stalled/prevented permanent transfers knowing Everton are so desperate that we'd loan them both Besic an Bolasie.

They probably have long memories of having a similar issue themselves. Didnt some of their lunatic purchases in the early(ish) days of the PL nearly send them bust? The days of Ravenelli, that midget Brazilian, pretty sure a few others as well.

I’ll miss him as much as you but let’s face it, he’s too big for Everton, we need to let him fly free now and show the world what he can do.
I’ve never quite understood the idolatry enjoyed by this Besic bloke. However, people like yourself and @MarcelsGoat...people whose knowledge of football is encyclopaedic...people having opinion I give air-time...rate Mo as possibly Everton’s greatest ever player to not command a starting spot.
It’s a rum situation, no doubt.

Me? I’m somewhat insouciant on the pure football side. However, should Mo go, both you and Goat will be in my thoughts and please, should you need comforting word, do not hesitate to pm me.

Meh, he goes with my best wishes. Showed some flashes of real quality, in big games as well, during his early years but in the end his injury record and indiscipline meant he was never able to put a real run together and truly prove himself.

He's too good for the Championship, as is Bolasie most probably, Middlesborough will have really underachieved if they don't even at least get to the play-offs this season.

Good luck Mo, I enjoyed your obvious passion but in the end it wasn't meant to be. Am I right in saying McCarthy will be the only Martinez signing left at the club?

I dont actually think that was all down to Boro.

Besic probably wanted to keep as much of his Everton wages as possible.. hence deal stalling.

Bolasie wanted to stay in prem

Despite disagreeing with this, I'd imagine he'd be even further down the pecking order once JMAC comes back. Every manager that comes in loves him despite his Ireland shenanigans. Besic didn't really get a chance and that makes me kind of sad. Good luck you crazy mafioso son of a gun

I think everyone liked him cos he's that old fashioned EFC player who seems to fight hard, tackle hard, work hard, but then ultimately isn't quite good enough. Bit like Big Dunc! Imagine if Besic had scored in a derby, he'd have a statue. Seriously though, he's frustrating - looked like he could have been a really good player, if not for injuries and that tendency to give the ball away, and give away free kicks / bookings.

To be honest mate I’d miss him more than all my exes added together. It’ll be like losing a limb.

In his time here he's produced 90 minutes of greatness put together. He's our Paul Davies.
