This will be one of the leanest years in the transfer market and I doubt very seriously any tycoons will be sizing us up.
As inflation will eventually heat up after this deflation period matters will only get worse for profitability for many teams and fans. So we aren't the lone ranger. We will have to make do with what we have less Jo of course.

They should open up some room on the wage front. Last summer we were still wheeling and dealing from the summer before making the signings of yak, pienaar, baines and jags stick. yeah fads and AJ left, but we didnt get total amounts upfront, fellaini was brought in at another record fee, and saha has been a fine addition (fulham and west ham wins applicable) though we knew what we were in for with his glass legs. So where does it leave us? IF we are to play and work well in the league AND a cup competition then arteta needs a player to carry some of the creative burden bringing in, simply because of the number of games (how many for villa this season? 46???), injuries and suspensions. On top of this i'd like to see a midfield destroyer brought in to sit and do the job carsley used to do but also be a bit more ready with a reducer or two.
