Moyes transfer history

wasnt shandy andy only about 1.2 mill?

Yes. And the profits Moyes has made on players is irrelevant really as he kept players we could have sold for higher profits; Baines, Howard, Jags, Arteta (in his prime), Coleman, Fellaini etc.

Is this thread for real? Moyes was brilliant in the transfer market, he can spot an out of form player with class and a player with potential to make the step up better than any other manager for me.

im looking down the list and now im doubting all the profits/losses the poster mentioned, but ive been drinking and i may be right!!!

what billycopper showed us is that Moyes was not nearly the transfer magician which some on this forum make him out to be - especially if he had money to splash - this transfer window at United exposed him in no uncertain terms as a blameshifter of note

I don't think anyone can argue against the fact that in terms of players bought to the club Moyes' successes far outweigh his failures. The reason this was the case was also the reason he was known as dithering dave. His method of scouting and researching players was so intensive that although invariably it meant good players coming to the club it also meant good players being missed. Roberto is far more decisive and although this may mean his successes in the market may possibly not be as good as moyes. it feels far more refreshing at the moment to see such a flurry of activity like we saw Monday night

TBF he made some great signing, but i think its become a hell of a lot clearer from Utd window, that his apprehension really put the breaks on us to a degree.

When i think of the number of injuries we had at vital times, or the squad flagged to death.

Arteta was a wonderful signing but I remember the deal didn't go smoothly.
After his loan we didn't sign him till mid August I think. I could never understand that considering he was only 2.2m
I agree with the sentiment that Moyes struggled to make us more dynamic once Cahill had become such a key player. At the same time you coud never argue against what he achieved when faced with clubs with far superior finances.

Such a shame that he has behaved so poorly towards Everton since his move to the Old Trafford franchise. I actually think he will fail their and that isn't me being spiteful. I just don't think the role is suitable for someone who likes complete control of a club and lacks the experience and boldness of 'winners'.
