"It is good for West Ham, they are getting a good manager" - David Moyes.

I see he is already threatening to take the Sergeant Major approach with the players, Dave lol

Slag him all you like but he left the club in a far better state than Roberto or Koeman. The malaise under Martinez, Ina team that had previously been happy to graft and grind when needed, was truly alarming

He left the club with a Dad's Army team that needed to be upgraded. Oldest team in the PL.

Martinez left a team that then went on next season to get where Moyes had left off with a top 6/7 placing.

They're the facts.

The state that Koeman left us in on the other hand I wouldn't argue with you over.

He's killed this club for years.

Mind your language mate, you're new so probably don't realise that there are a number of terms that trip the swear filter. Persistent use can and will result in warnings, let's try and avoid that eh ?

What happened to this guy? He used to strike me as an intimidating disciplinarian up until that final 6 months of his Everton reign when Utd were sniffing about. It's as if his integrity and reputation just evaporated. He was was a bell when he undersold Everton in games against the top 4 and he often played turgid togger, but he was never the deluded, self-obsessed bell that he comes across as now.

I find him to be a very strange character nowadays.

I think the Utd job was a meteor strike tbh and just smashed his self-belief - to fail so publicly and have the world's sports press crawling up your ringpiece must have done a lot of damage. Layer on another two failed positions, the Sunderland one being especially wretched, and his big talk about there being a new sheriff in town sounds like he's trying to convince himself more than anyone else.

End of the day the teams he put out here absolutely ran their balloches off for him, which means he once knew how to motivate players. So maybe there's a real manager left in there and he can do something at WH - be interested to see. He'll have no excuses - their squad is nowhere near as bad as the Sunderland circus AFAIK and would stay up with anyone serious in charge.

Got to totally agree with your post.

Since his stock has fallen, Moyes has got more and more arrogant and comes out with loads of delusional comments. He even breezed into Sunderland declaring himself a 'Champions League level manager' as if he was somehow above them and doing them a favour.

Even at the press conference yesterday he said West Ham are getting a 'really good manager'!! What a total big head, and he said Sunderland was a 'poor choice' by him as if what happened there was none of his fault.

The Mackems think it was a really 'poor choice' by their board to appoint this clown in the first place.

It makes you sick he's made an absolute fortune for achieving next to nothing in football and still gets mugs lining up to employ him. How the hell he still manages to get a gig in the Premier League I'll never know.

As far as I'm concerned his comments are all false bravado as his experience at Man Utd has totally destroyed his confidence and broken him.

The West Ham fans have made it plain they didn't want him, so if he doesn't hit the ground running it could get messy very quickly. And with Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal in his first 6 games, that could happen.

I agree.

When asked about his reputation he said he had "a little bit to repair". A little bit ffs! He's absolutely bombed as a manager since he left us. He also has that creepy, narcissistic habit of referring to himself in the third person.

He's a shadow of his former self.

I think with every failure, since he left us, his self confidence and self belief has been steadily eroded.

He now tries to hide this with delusional arrogance and deflection.

He'd benefit from seeing a professional and trying to work his issues out imo.

He just comes across as bitter and not a particularly nice person nowdays.
