I do appreciate what he did, he signed some of the best players I've ever seen play in an Everton shirt (Arteta, Pienaar, Cahill, Baines) and he deserves big props for his consistent top 8 finishes after we spent years battling relegation. Not many managers could have accomplished that, even before the PL became a much tougher place to do well in like it has since he left. It's just I won't forget about the bad things he was responsible for either.
- Never winning a cup when he had teams well capable of it
- Spending his last 3 or 4 seasons generally sulking and acting not one bit arsed
- ALWAYS waving a white flag in big away games and talking afterwards like it was achievement to only lose narrowly
- Consistently favouring rubbish like Osman, Hibbert and Neville over younger and better players, or least ones who had lots of potential
- Lying to club officials about how he we probably going to re-sign when he knew MONTHS beforehand he was going
- Sending out a reserve XI against the worst RS side ever so Gerrard could have his own testimonial, complete with hat-trick
He can now be classed as a dinosaur who's been left behind by how much the league has evolved over the past few years, it's simple as that. He's never been an innovative manager and nowadays you have to be if you're going to get a tune out of limited players. Simply making them work harder in training and shouting at them when they're playing poorly isn't enough, He's took Sunderland down with the most pathetic of whimpers and he's nailed go again with West Ham. After that he'd be lucky to even get the Scotland job. He's made so many bad decisions over the past few years and can only blame himself.
