Moyes Though ?

I think he'd do a lot better with this squad. I think it would still be entertaining given the players we have going forwards.

I think the players would be fitter, the work rate higher and the defence tighter. His method was all about being as fit as possible, working hard and preparing to counter the oppositions strong points in each game.

I don't think we should bring him back, I think we need to look to bring in a top class manager with a winning pedigree. Difficult to do that without European football. I think plenty of managers would want to work with our young talented squad though. Huge game for martinez this week. I still hope he can turn things around, I really like him, but it's just not been good enough so far.

Moyes is as bad as Martinez. We need to appoint someone with a greater list of achievements than "Won the FA cup with Wigan (whilst getting them relegated)" and "Won a Charity Shield and getting sacked from Man Utd & Sociedad"

Not sure I stated anywhere that Martinez was a miracle worker. That would be mental you see?

You may not have, but that notion exists amongst a sizeable cohort of Evertonians, as does the idea that Moyes was incapable of assembling a squad that has the quality of our current squad. The evidence suggests otherwise, imo. I'd rather have Jagielka and Lescott at centre half, with Arteta, Cahill, Johnson and Yakubu in front of them than our current set up.

Think most of them have retired mate.

fair point, but dont think we have that option really...we can only take a gamble, we arent gonna get a proven manger unless the new board has lots of the money

After the way he handled leaving the club and then the fellaini and baines approaches and belittling the club, not a chance.

I can respect him for what he did over the 10 years but like how Martinez is feeling right now he got more time than he should have, would be a step back to have to return him.

With more experienced players in the squad Martinez would be the better option. With the current squad, Moyes would be higher up the table. Martinez is exceptional with youth development, but he needs to learn how to keep his squad disciplined in the back. I think Lukaku is a Moyes wet dream as well; you can guarantee your ass our strength would be set pieces.

And I don't think this thread is about taking Moyes back. It's just a hypothetical "would he do better in the league with the way the squad is currently constructed?" I don't want him back either.
