Will pick up again once our better players come back. Dewsbury hall been a huge miss in particular.

He has a glass ceiling but still wouldn’t be overly surprised if he gets us into the europa conference. Going through a horrible patch but in the league still around where we need to be.

Honestly think that 11 today gets easily relegated. Squad depth just not there.

We have just spent 3 1/2 years as a bottom 5 club just hoping we stay out of the bottom 3 each season. then Moyes came in and all that changed within a week. I dont want to go back to the Dyche , Lampard and FSW days

Our squad is depleted. Moyes spent all summer complaining about the lack of players coming in. Its gonna take another summer window to give us a real reflection of where we are. We will finish in the top 10 this season under Moyes. That is progress. We took a decent team to penalties in the FA cup with a bench full of children and goalkeepers. No other manager is getting better results at this moment in time than Moyes would
I think Moyes did a great job last season and we did make progress this season. And ofcourse the bad results the last few weeks are also the result of the amount of (star)players who are unavailable. But I do think he is not the right man for the long run.

The problem for me is his football-philosophy. The good thing: he is good at team-organization. We play very disciplined and our defense is (in general) rock solid. But his playing style lacks the dynamics of modern football. If you looked at Brentford or today Sunderland, they actually could pass the ball to eachother more than 5 times AND move the ball forward to get dangerous. We just play longballs and hope for the best. Moyes teams are not known for their creativity. And the last couple of games he did make some bad management-decisions. Weird starting line-ups, too late subs and bad subs and no plan B.

I would love us to play football like Sunderland did today, or Brentford last week, or Brighton the last few seasons. That's not demanding for the CL (yet 😉 ), that's just asking for a positive, technical approach.

Who do you think would do better with this threadbare squad? I'm not defending him, but I reckon there's plenty that would do worse. We're a mid table team it's as simple as that. Hopefully we'll improve in the summer but we are where we are.
Well hopefully we wont hire someone who will do worse. Sunderland and Brentford are great examples...small budgets, no name managers or players for that matter, actually stringing passes together. Moyes is part of the old guard, not the future.

Can't disagree with that. But that's the issue, being able to identify these. I don't trust us to be able to based on recent history. Moyes has come in and done a job. The last month or so we have been decimated with key injuries etc..

…..maybe if we stop disliking managers before their first game we might find one we like.
His first game in charge was in 2002 though Eggs. A lot of people are hung up from his previous time here. I was glad when he went the first time, disappointed he came back initially, and then proved me and a lot of people wrong. I think there's big problems mentality wise with this club and although he's been on the whole very good for us we need a fresh start, out with the old, come summer. The ghosts of BK, Moyes 1.0, Goodison and everything else still loom over us.

Our defending really isn't solid.

We ride our luck an awful lot and give up a lot of decent chances. We benefit hugely from an exceptional goalkeeper behind it all. The keeper is part of the defence of course but I don't think his performances are dictated by organisation or discipline.
