Perhaps a more insightful poll would have been if people want him to stay the next season or two.

Either way, doesn't matter. Too many change their opinion on a whim depending on a short run of form. Win 3 games people vote yes. Lose 3 people vote no.

The owners shouldn't allow short term to dictate term as I fear they did last season/summer.

I love this forum …. Anyone with their mind in order who looks back a year and was offered the position in terms of points would snatch your hand off .
We complain fir the sake of complaining in here who needs facts when there’s a chance to kick a manager
We massively react to a poor run of form. Always have done.|

Understandable I guess when we hover over the relegation zone. Not so much when we are in a half decent position.

I don't believe that DM leaving this summer is even on the agenda. The club has been stabilised compared to previous years but there is still plenty to be done.

I think he will see out his contract and then be replaced by a younger manager.

I think this is most likely as well. He's never gonna do badly enough that he has to go. I think it just depends on who the owners' ideal replacement is, because I do reckon if they are available in the summer, they won't hesitate to make a change, but odds are that won't be the case so they'll just let Moyes see out his deal.

I think for the majority it's more seeing how the league is this season, feels like any of those European spots are up for grabs but we've continued to falter. Add in going out of both cups pretty much right away, and it just gets to people.

You are right, logically, this year was just about having a year in which we're never really threatened by relegation and are looking up.

We can certainly concentrate on the league now....

A more accurate measure of views might be. :

- Go now.
- Go at the end of season.
- Stay next season.

I totally understand the argument that we’ve battled relegation for years, but that was under the disastrous management of Kenwright/Moshiri.
TFG are in now. The signing of Ndiaye was an instant boost. The addition this season of KDH & Grealish raised the level further. I’m definitely no fan of Dyche, but no question he’d have done better with those 3 in the side.
Fantastic new stadium now, new era. We are definitely a more inviting prospect to players & managers.

I sincerely hope TFG are well into the recruitment process for next season, or before if the right man becomes available.

He has a contract until next Summer. The backroom staff have been in place since September so scouting and player purchases won't be his responsibility though I'm sure he's privy to the list.

He has progressed us nicely. Its not realistic to think we should be challenging for European Qualification this season. While this is the longterm goal, we all knew this season was the beginning of a rebuild. AFCON and injures have stifled us but apart from 2-3 games, we have remained competitive.

Therefore I'd be happy to see him complete his contract and then we can look at bringing in the new guy.

I can't see us doing anything other than that under Moyes to be honest.

Win a couple, a shocking loss against a relegation placed side, win a couple including a higher placed team, then go on a run of poor results, before winning a couple.

No, it was after the win at Bournemouth when he scored. The Sky interviewer said: "You are just on loan here" and he replies "Yeah, of course, but they've taken me to their hearts".

This has never been long term and I'd be very surprised if he stays.
Are we talking about different players here, I thought you were talking about Armstrong and Preston, not Grealish and City.

The thing with Moyes is that wanting him out now isn't exactly part of the usual managerial pitch forking which is corrosive to clubs. That's because we have 12 years of experience of him. It isn't knee-jerk to now say "Ah yeah, that's what drove me mad last time, and it's why we'll just become at most 'best of the rest' if we're lucky".

My position remains steady: top ten finish or he's out the door. If we do get top ten then the next season requires Europe or he's out the door. All of his maddening decisions will have to be reluctantly accepted.

Just hold his feet to the fire and make sure he delivers on very deliverable targets in a league that's plummeted in quality over the last half decade or so.

We should never have hired him on the basis of what he did here between January and May last season though. That was just weakness on the part of the owners. We should now be into season one of a new era for the club with a manager like Iraola who would have come here if asked, I'm sure of that.
