Moyes only given 6 million from Rodwell Fee

Why? Because he's revealed just what a pitiful deal Kenwright and co. got?

Actually yes. £15m with add ons I could have just about accepted. I find it hard to believe that after banking £10m for Arteta and getting so many big earners of the wage bill that we're so hard pressed that we accept City's first offer on Rodwell. Why didn't we stand firm nearer to £20m and try to trigger a bidding war with Chelsea and United? It was done so quickly that they didn't have a chance to move. I can only reason that a relatively low price was accepted with his injury record in mind and that the add ons are if he proves his fitness rather than based on accomplishments.

You couldn't get Joe Allen or Stephen Fletcher for that much. There wouldn't be much change left over from Matt Jarvis either. Maybe the days of £24m for decent players is over?

He's gotta go bargin basement hunting again. Pull rabbits out of hats with a few weeks to go.

Unless he pulls off something spectacular, keeping Rodwell for the sake of the squad might have been the better choice.

I might ask the media lads if this tyrrell account is even legit, it's not even a verified account

Do it man, its bad for your health this lark.

I'm gonna go with its fake, purely because an official everton rep shouldn't be posting exact fees if its gone down as undisclosed.

FACTS???

YOU CANT HANDLE THE FACTS.

@Neilo_76 you may not like this, but the Chairman pulls off fantastic deals. He is a an excellent negotiator.

Do you honestly think this was done and dusted between Sat and Sun mate?

This will have been in the pipe line for a few weeks,Kenwright will have sounded out Chelsea,Utd and everybody else in the world to see how many partys wanted to bid on him

It would seem only City wanted to play ball

Aren't the people saying £12 mill + add ons the same people who laughed at Liverpool paying over the odds and causing the inflation in English players anyway? Rodwell from what we have seen, could be moulded into a great player. But right now he has hamstrings of wet tissue and an inability to stamp his authority on the game. £12 million+ for someone who may not have started for us this season and with a bad recent injury record isn't that bad.

Also I would absolutely love Junior to have a stormer against them at their place.

We compromised. We've been batting em back with a ****ty stick for seasons and we've now folded when we needed the cash and Citeh were the ones who wanted to make a legit move - Platt said it last night.

"I think there is a great deal of potential there and so does Robbie, and we looked at it and thought it is the right thing to do, the opportunity came along for us to do it this summer, at the right money business wise, and we feel that we can provide him with the platform to realise that potential which has been there for a long time.

"We have seen him a few times, we have been to have a look and the opportunity is there, we don't think he has realised his potential and we think we can give him that stage."

We couldnt wait to get shut.

It felt like Moyes only played him to justify his billing. I think he has more faith in Junior, so getting rid of Rodwell could give him a small pot of money to play with. Rather than looking at loans and freebies he might be able to shop up to the £4m mark. I always knew Rodders would go but I was hoping that it would give us a war chest to really sort ourselves out.

Rodwell himself said negotiations had been on-going for weeks and in the past view days things had sped up. (Official interview on the city site).
