Moyes only given 6 million from Rodwell Fee

I'm going slowly mental reading its down from £15m to £12m to then only spending £6m, so I'm gonna go ahead and Ostrich it for a while and sporadically check the OS instead.

Am I really a bit deluded when I think that Gibson has been very good in an Everton shirt?

It might be me like.

No you're not. Rodwell might be the more flashy player in terms of physique, athleticism, two footedness, but Gibson has a team football brain that only the likes of you and me appreciate. He's smart. And so was Moyes for buying him for that cheap.

A bit inconsistent. I thought he was fat when we bought him (a stone I probably shouldn't throw). I think we saw what he's capable of, though, and it was better than anything Rodwell has shown so far (which probably isn't fair given his age).

Cheers Pompo but you flatter me with your great mind association. You always da man to me.

Agreed on the overweight thing PF lid. I think Moyes made reference to pushing him as he needed it in training. Lets see if them love handles are gone when the season starts.

Fox called Gibson first game as a player and I wasn't agreeing with him. He's massively grown on me. A few more boss toebungers from outside the box to his game this year and that half a million will look an absolute steal I reckon.

Rodwell should be so much better than Gibson but he just is not. Gibson knows who he is passing to before he even receives the ball and the team trust him with it. He can play one touch footy and get stuck in. It should not be all that difficult to get a better player than Gibson but in all honesty that just shows how bad Rodwell has been.

They usually say "but ALL club's are selling clubs blah, blah, blah".

Yeah, it's just that we're better at it than the others. :dodgy:

Maybe it being a quiet summer for domestic transfers because of the Euros and the Olympics hasn't helped? Compared to £14m for Kagawa, £10.5m for Podolski, £8.8m for Sigurdsson and £16m for Cazorla it doesn't look too bad. But against £28m for Oscar, £35m for Hazard and £15m for Allen it feels like we've been done.

i refuse to recognise thise 6 mill stuff because i don't want to believe it. see what/how much money we use by the end of the transfer window before we all fume and try and cut ourselves yeah lads, not really much more to say than that until we know for 100%

Said the words I was looking for mate. Rodwell has amazing attributes, probably more so than Gibson but the latter is miles more effective.

Shame really but it is what it is. Gibson really helps us win games and play better football.

He's had 4/5yrs to make his mark at Everton and become the player we all knew he could be and he just hasnt done that. Gibson played better in 6months than Rodwell had done in 4yrs.
