Moyes has failed the test

I'm not saying we've had no injuries just relatively few serious ones. Spurs have had Sandro & Parker on long termers, Defoe the same or playing with an injury, problems at CB etc.

I'm saying we've been fairly lucky with them as we needed to be to get up there.
We have been relatively lucky, but Spurs ability to replace quality with more quality means suspensions, injuries and the like affect them far less than it would us.

Initially Moyes had improved his approach this season, but as the finishing line came into view he has increasingly returned to type, becoming more risk-averse, more and more conservative. A leopard doesn't change its spots I suppose.
Aside from perhaps Barkley playing more (sick for the RS game of course) how could he have been less conservative? Did anyone want to watch Jela, Vic and Naismith galloping about aimlessly from the off?* We simply just don't have any other players he can bring on to not be "conservative." Certainly none who could be considered remotely in form.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing Naismith in the hole with Jela as striker just to give it a shot (not like Vic has been a goal machine of late) but not against those teams. That's a West Ham lineup for me.

Nearlys only count with hand grenades and government work, mate.

Our subs are ****e, thats why.

Are they? Is Duffy not a better option than the big dutch fart?? Has Vellios came off the bench and scored when he got the chance? Was Victor not doing the same? Has Oviedo looked a decent option anytime we saw him?

Each to their own like.

And Spurs have about five centre halves, we have three, one of whom has been s***e.

If Defoe is out they still have Adebayor, who has been poor this season but is still an okay option.

Even with Sandro and Parker out, they have better CM options off the bench than we do.

etc.

No mate we have four. The sh**e one consistently being picked over the young promising one.

They may have better options off the bench but was what they had on the pitch better? It's only a maybe from my POV.

And Chelsea lost to QPR at home.

Why are people expecting our team not to make mistakes and then ignoring the fact that other teams also make mistakes ?

I think it's more about the amount of mistakes, i.e. of not turning draws into wins against sides we should be beating that's annoying people. Obviously every team is gonna eff up but we've done it too often and it's cost us European football.

Vellios can't even score for the f***ing reserves lad.

Heitinga was boss last season, and we either have to play him and hope to get a buyer or let him sit on the bench costing 60 grand a week for another year. Regardless, he's been okay recently.

Oviedo should get more games, but again he's not exactly top 4 material at the moment.

But you are comparing Duffy, Oviedo and Vellios with Gallas, Siggurdson and Defoe or Dempsey or Holtby.

Player of the season last year. Had a bad patch when he got in the team at the start of the season but he's been alright recently.

And Duffy, none of us actually have a clue how good he is. Following the same logic of Heitinga being s***e after being player of the season then Duffy could also be s***e having played a couple of decent games for us. The fact is, we don't know.

Spurs on the other hand have proven premier league players on their bench.

That sentence alone shows what a crazy discussion it is.

And don't act like Duffy should be starting, none of us actually have a clue how good he is. Following the same logic of Heitinga being s***e after being player of the season then Duffy could also be s***e having played a couple of decent games for us.

What he done last year has no bearing on this one. He's been half arsed and dire all season bar a couple of games. Having even a limited player(which Duffy may be) would have seen us be a better unit as he'd have been trying.

Like I said we've been fairly lucky with injuries and suspensions so our first choice pair have played the majority anyway. This means that hasn't had a major impact on our season.

I wouldn't say two of our best starting eleven being out for long periods is particularly lucky myself. But there you go.

Which long periods??

Gibson got injured at the start of September, didn't play another game for us until the end of November. Three months out. Then he had another month out in January. He's only played 21 times out of 36 in the league.

Between the 10th of November and the 21st of January Mirallas only played once, he missed ten league games as a result.

Fair enough. Played with an injury too. Who's the other?
