Moyes finally says something.

Our starting 11 for our first game last year didn't contain a new player. Last season wasnt to bad.

Sure, we are thin on the ground but we'll get some in, hopefully quality players who will take us forward.

All the team around us have added and on paper improved from last year. We're relying on youth players who, apart from Baxter, havent made any drastic impact in pre-season. Teams change every year or build. If you dont you get snuffed out because there's nothing left to surprise and move on with.

Why do Real Madrid's or your Man Utd's spending vast amounts of cash? They're out of our league yes, but they're at a point that they dont want to fall from. After being the best team in the league, you try and maintain why you're the best team.

Villa, Spurs, Pompy, The [Poor language removed], Chelsea, all have improved big time. All these teams, even Manure and Arsenal, last season we either beat or were a player or goal out from beating them. What are we now at this point? We've replaced what we've lost or added with un-proven youth.

Yak gets injured we're [Poor language removed] up front. Arteta injured, whats our midfield?

There's no signs we're actually going for anyone with quality. Yeah, we've got till the end of the month. But we're not getting a Moutinho, a Love, [Poor language removed] we're not even throwing money at a cut-price Arshavin that Spurs might bag because no top club wants him. So what do we have (rumoured from the press)?

An over the hill Thiago. Joe Leadly and still maybe Alan Smith.

Im happy our first game is almost a sell out (why aint aint it sold out) and I'm happy another season is here. But I cant help but feel we'll be mediocre this season.

But that's just me.

Rowell's looked the best out the youngsters, he's been more impressive than Jose for me. If anyone stepping up full time it's Jack.

Lets see what we add first, as someone said the season is a marathon not a sprint. We've still got time to get good players in and hopefully we do. It's risky but that's Everton for you.

To be honest I can see where he's coming from, atleast last seasons team had some balance to it and every player was comfortable in there position.

Potentially tomorrow we could have a left back on the wing, a 17 year old in midfield, a centre half in midfield and a centre midfielder as a second striker. The balance is all wrong really.

Our defence will be key tomorrow, if we can nick a goal and battle it out we'll be fine.

Agreed, but we have Yakubu starting the campaign this season, with Jags a lot more comfortable.

Will be very interesting tomorrow.

I think Jags might play at right back, Neville will probably play in midfield. He's [Poor language removed] in there but he's more experienced than Jags and can do a job.

Yak I'm worried about, I've yet to see him click with Ossie behind him. He seems to be isolated and marked out the game. Hopefully he's at his best tomorrow, we'll need him.

Agree with that.

The two just dont seem to work.

Apparently, Yak didnt train most of the week either.
