It looks like Moyes maybe wants to keep hold of his two loan players. He admits they're probably rusty, but after the Chelsea game they both looked solid players.

Lars' contract is up at the end of the season so Moyes could hope for a deal. But it seems Jacobsens is wanting 1st team footy, with Bayern Munich wanting him.

Gundo is around £4.5mill he says. Now....I think we do need a DM. He is only 26 and an international midfielder. A gamble worth taking? A solid DM is not going to be that cheap IMO.

I reckon it has taken this season for Castillo to settle, if we can get him at the right price, he could be a good buy. Lars hasn't had a chance, but he has spent most of the season injured.. Tony Hibbert makes me nervous when he plays.....

Its food for thought IMO. I think Lars would go if a team offered him 1st team footy. I do think he would be a better RB than Hibbert, especially going forward.

For Castillo - I'm sure Reading turned down that amount when Moyes wanted Stephen Hunt in the summer. So taking from that, if Hunt is worth more than that, around £6million, anyone better than him is going to be probably more.

The DM is a dying breed of footballer IMO. And the best ones are in the £10million+ bracket, even M'Bia the Snake is around that price.

So £4.5million, maybe a structured deal for Castillo? Pushing Neville to RB? Worth the price? Its whether he's needed or not.

I like Castillo, but I don't see (and I don't want) us signing both Jacobsen and Castillo, Having Jacobsen (better pick than Castillo mostly because we don't have to pay for him) would mean that Neville would play almost exclusively in central midfield, so we wouldn't really have a spot for another DM like Castillo, if Moyes wants to bring a more creative player too.

Castillo is not worth £4.5m, hes pretty average and his reading of the game is shocking, I would take him on a free or for less than £1m, no more.

I would give Jacobsen a contract, cant see it costing that much, but it sounds as if he would want 1st team action, im not convinced hes a 1st team player.

It's plainly obvious to me, forget the idea of keeping your cards close to your chest, Everton are still skint -- even with an FA Cup final appearance.

Moyes is caught between two stools, which is never nice -- does he/can he keep his three loanees, or offload the three, Jo, Castillo, & Jacobsen, and begin again.

If it's the latter, we live in a pawnshop, which I'm not sure is good or bad. What you constantly have is uncertainty.

4.5 seems a lot for Segundo to be honest, if we can get him on another loan and see how he has settled in next yr then that would be great. I wouldnt take the option up on Lars, not good enough for the prem

My bet is Lars is a keeper. Don't know if Hibbo is carrying a knock but he hasn't kept up the pace lately. Castillo is one for the future but I don't think we can afford him and upgrade in another slot. So I think Castillo is gone and Lars & Hibbo will rotate next year.

Castillo is not good enough to start regularly for us IMO. Certainly at 4.5 mil he's way over priced.
Agreed on Castillo, don't think he'll ever be up to the standards required at Everton.

As for Jacobsen, I'd rather see a proven right back/full back brought in, with Hibbert dropping to the bench, or bring in a DM and move Neville to RB. On the other side, he'd cost us no transferfee, so don't dismiss it out of hand.

Castillo hasnt done enough for me, im a big fan of his attitude and their may be a player there but to much of a risk for 4.5mill. I like Jacobson as well worth another year IMO.

I'd have Castillo, but for no more than £2.5m, I'm not arsed about all this "who else you gonna get for decent money" truth is, based on his inconsistent performances and the prospect of him not turning into a world-beater for the last few games, that is all he is worth - at the moment.
