Moyes decisions today.

A win alone is not even good enough. He now must also pick the team u want also.. Haha is laughable...
Oh we're also 4th by the way!!

I don't think the result is the only thing that matters, to be fair. If we're performing well and draw like against fulham and newcastle, I don't get despondant because if we play like that we'll win games. Likewise if we play poorly and win, like at blackburn last year, there's reason to be nervous becauase you don't always get lucky.

We weren't great today but I think that has more to do with players missing than Moyes so I'm not worried too much. And lets face it we weren't awful either, just kind of average.

not the team i would have played but we got the points. cant complain too much about the team today with the injuries and stuff we have but i cant believe naismith hasnt been given a go behind jelavic yet. he looks like he would score plenty of goals if he was further up the pitch

Played there against Norwich. Some of his throughballs to Jelavic were awful.

It's not though. Barkley isn't a holding midfielder, which is the job Heitinga was given.

Ok get your point but yet again JH was crass did sod all - never a midfielder or defender he needs to be removed completely of the bench Oviedio was very good on the plus side, but surely Barkley was the right choice to come on when Wigan had the ball advantage in midfield as Jh is so slow! Barkley did well at stoke when coming on = dropped completely!
The age of our team today was far to old & in the last 20 mins the legs had gone imo!

First off all Hitzlsperger in ahead of Naismith was an absolute joke.

The midfield first half was so misjointed it was unbelievable. All Osman wanted to do was drift inside and the right was left bare, bar Phil (pass backwards) Neville.

Also why the hell was Heitinga brought on in midfield ahead of Barkley. Was this some sort of "protect the back four" ploy from Moyes for the final 10 20 mins. Just annoyed that the lads not getting playing time and hes a better option (albeit less experienced) than players who are.

Yes we got the win and never looked in too much trouble but against a better side we would have taken a beating.

city, utd, arsenal, spurs. Did not take a beating in those games

So you think the side he picked in the first half was good enough? It was shocking and all over the place.

Everyone knows Naismith aint a right midfielder at choice. However he is the best squad player we've got and should have been in ahead if Hitzlsperger. Osman in the middle with Gibson.

I wouldnt have minded if Wigan had brought Gomez and Di Santo on before Heitinga was thrown on as a defensive midfielder, but they wernt.

Barkley should come on ahead of both Hitzlsperger and heitinga in midfield.

It was a poor team performance, which was rectified in the second half, nothing to do with Hitz going off or Naismith coming on, we just played better as a team.

You're saying Barkley should come on, based on what ? How much have you actually seen him play ? About as much as every other normal fan i'd wager, i.e. not much.

I'm all for giving the lad a chance when we're winning, or when we need to be more attacking, but our issue today was being overrun in midfield in a tight game, not the kind of match to bring on a 19 year old lad with little PL experience.

He's not the messiah. Throw him on with 20 minutes left when we're cruising, not when we're holding on to a tight lead.

Cheer up pal. It's Christmas and we've got 6 points out of 6 so far and are 4th in the table. Pour yerself a drink.

this is exactly it .....at the end of today the MOST important thing was getting 3 pts on the board and we did that .....

naismith isnt a starting 11 player for us yet ( and thats a big yet) saying him not starting was a big reason for a performance like today is a sign to lay off the festive treats

I'm sorry but the loving of Barkley is beyond a joke. The lad is young, and Moyes, not us, sees him day in and day out. Moyes knows what his mentality is like. Last time he made mistakes there were rumours it ruined him completely and why he dipped in form so much. He'll play when he'll play.

We won today. Heitinga did his job.
