Moyes debate on Talksport drive now

I know a scouse kopite who wants us up their competing also, just like the 80's he says.

He said, a stronger Everton means a stronger City !

Maybe he should, not denying that fact, but people have a go at him for accepting a 65k a week contract when theres a man sitting there who doesnt get enough stick, who offered him it.

I despise kenwright and quite like Moyes.

But Moyes is overpaid. You're right that it's not his fault but he's getting very rich out of this club and that takes away a lot of the warm feelings I have about the guy. We're paying him an elite wage and yet not demanding an elite performance. He's doing a good job but he's not doing 'a 12th best in the world job'. You can't afford to be sentimental about this stuff, Cahill was a great servant but no longer value for money given his wages and Moyes might be the same.

This morning on the Football Show (I think), the question was raised whether Moyes would do well at Arsenal. The first question raised was (paraphrased): Why would he leave Everton for Arsenal where he still wouldn't have any money to spend?

I almost called in to point out the absurdity of comparing Everton's transfer activity with Arsenal. Even with the insane profits they have held back and their recent trend of balancing players out with transfers in, Arsenal has still dumped millions more into players than Everton over the last several years.

Anyway, the general consensus with pundits re: Moyes is that he will stick around so long as he can hold on to a couple key players over the January window.

Got to be worth it! What he does on the budget he has is incredible, i wouldn't swap him for anyone!

Also it is a little old fashioned but i believe football would be a better place if we could go back to years when it was like this.

A manager should be the highest paid in the club, he is in charge and he is the one who will be sacked if the team doesn't perform. In any other business this is the way. Managers get the money as they are the ones constantly on the chopping block.

He is the best young(ish) manager in the business! i just hope we can one day give him some money!

12th highest paid IN THE WORLD - and people still ask who would we get instead.

Both Mersey tunnels will be chocca full of applicants when he deems he's earned enough.
