Totally agree with Tim Howard. He does this some games, just loses it

I find him so confusing. One game he is one of the best I have ever seen, and the next game he looks worse than Dicky Wright. I think this lack of consistency is the reason Man Utd let him go so easily.

No keeper in the Premier League would have done any better to be honest, he did a much better job than Friedal did for Villa last week. The throw ins are almost impossible to defend against, worse than corners.

I've played against something similar so I do know what it's about. It's a nightmare for every player on the pitch. Especially when you've got 6/7 six foot plus players infront of you.

I've never seen anything like it today. A horrible situation for the keepers and when you those yard dog's standing around you, your bound to be put off.

Sorry mate im just not a fan of his, if i was manager the keeping position is one i would look at improving.

His clean sheet record speaks for itself mate, that's all I can say to be honest. He has a positive influence on the back four, either you rate him or you don't.

Every team and keeper in the League will struggle against Stoke this season, that's just the way it is. Impossible to defend against at times.

I have to agree with Neiler,I think Tim is a weakness in the team although I agree he is better than any since Martyn .I think he is suspect on shots from distance and today failed to command his area and mate not being funny but for the cash hes paid. hes expected to make a better job of it than you.(y)

Every keeper has there deficiencies, that's natural. No one is perfect. Howard has more good things than bad though, that is quite obvious.

That wasn't the point I was making to be honest, all I said is I've been in a similar situation a few years ago. No matter how good you are if you've got 7/8 six foot plus players in your way and blocking you it's a hard thing to deal with. Howard is only one man, he's not superman and these things happen.

Any keeper will struggle in those situations, whether your an amateur or a proffessional. Brad Friedel who I also rate looked alot more uncomfortable than Howard, at times it is impossible to defend against.

If your going to blame Howard you'd have to blame alot of players inside the box, no one was commanding there box.

Thats his job tb, especially for the 2nd he should have just cleared the decks and said its mine now get out of my area but he did nothing

Oh my God, i cant believe any of you are even doubting Tim Howard, he has been a fantastic signing, and he makes some great saves.

You say he played badly today, but come on, did you see half of their team? They were much taller than him. The first goal, it was a bad punch out, but it was still very lucky to drop to their player, and it was one hell of a shot. So you cant exactly put all the blame on him. The second goal, what do you want him to do?! He was going for the ball, clearly Jagielka thought he could head it over, or didn't hear a shout from howard, but it was deflected away from howard, so he couldn't do anything about it.

Honestly, Goalkeeper is on of the positions we do not need to improve :@

It's not always that easy mate, the box is packed and there's alot of physical players in there barging each other. It's his job yes but it's also the defenders jobs, they all failed.

I don't blame them though, the best defenders and keepers in the world will struggle against Stoke's direct football and especially long throws. It's just happens, everyone makes mistakes and some things can't be helped.

If we don't rate him you don't rate him, that's fair enough.

Long high balls like that deep into the 6 yard box are some of the worst for keepers to deal with because of the amount of bodies in there.

As we know commanding his area and claiming anything in sight isn't Howards strong point and its better for him to stay on his line if he isn't confident of coming for a ball and dealing with it.

You would have to be a very very very good keeper to come and deal well with every long throw Stoke throw into the box. And like i said with all the players in your way its nigh on impossible sometimes. And whats the point of coming for a ball if you cant claim it cleanly or punch it far.

Could of done better yes but i wouldn't say he was particulary to blame for the goals.

Agreed. Think Howard is a great goalkeeper for Everton. Don't think for one second his position needs improvement. I personally rate Howard amongst the best five goalkeepers in the PL, together with Edwin van der Sar, David James, Peter Cech and Heurelho Gomes. If he gets replaced, it will have to be by a top class keeper, otherwise there is no point doing so, in my eyes.
