How dare they want to ban our player for head butting, elbowing and punching someone in a game

Nobody is saying that. People are annoyed at supposedly unbiased BBC pundits calling for a certain length of ban when it's not in their remit to do so. They didn't call for Suarez to be banned for fifty games for racism, so they should shut up now.

It's not a witch hunt to point out that head butting someone is wrong and worthy of a ban.

I hate this saying but you really do sound like a Kopite there.

No one on here is saying it wasn't wrong. Nor that it deserves a ban. It was the holier than thou response from Shearer and the RS than got me and the very pointed comment of how long a ban should be.......

Barton went berserk for a concerted period of time, Fellaini didn't - the players state of mind. The FA also consider the impact on the rest of the game that the incident caused - Barton went for repeated people and had to be dragged off the pitch.

It has to be a very serious incident to deviate from standard disciplinary procedures and, for me, Fellaini hasn't really done that. If the ref sees the headbutt, it's a straight red, three game ban, and that's that - there's no reason whatsoever to extend it beyond that.

The red card would be for that one incident. Fellaini then went on to punch him afterwards. The worst thing is that both were premeditated, it's not as if his was a direct reaction to being pushed over or kicked, the way he looks over at the ref before headbutting him is pretty damning.

Plus he full on elbowed a Hull player a few seasons ago and got no punishment (if i remember right) so like i said , with the Fa you just never know, unfortunatly the media might make them take action.

Wish the ref had seen it and he got sent off and a 3 game ban and that was the end of it. Now all this.

No analysis of the game at all, just condemnation of Fellaini. They did their best to go through every incident and get as much as could on him, making the case against him far worse than it was a few hours ago. Hatchet job.

Its a difficult one cause if he does get a ban of any length its hard to defend.

Its just that with the examples above, compared to the Barton one, sometimes the FA pull their fingers out their asses and sometimes they don't.

No telling really what they do but considering the amount of coverage this is getting i'd be surprised if they don't do anything.

The charge has to be submitted against Fellaini by 6pm on Tuesday.

He'll be charged and banned and fair play to that. I'd honestly be disappointed if it's any more than three games though.

Wenger didn't see it, Fergie felt the other player should have been sent of for holding, 'arry said it's all part of the rough and tumble, and Brenda said that they'll defo get 2nd............
