2017/18 Morgan Schneiderlin

...the position he’s playing is very specialised and he’s been found wanting. It makes folk appreciate the likes of Gareth Barry and Lee Carsley in having the discipline to sit in front of the back four and work that space (between the lines) that clever opposition players operate in.

His lack of awareness and reaction led to their goal yesterday. That was a situation he should’ve dealt with.
He’s been in a quite awful run of form this whole season so far.

Gana is rightfully being called out for having a poor game due to him completely forgetting how to play a 10 metre pass, and yet he still almost scored twice and put Vlasic clean through on goal only for the unfortunate slip with the goal at his mercy.

Given that's a bad game, it's hard to actually find an adjective to describe Schneiderlin's game.

He looks like he's not playing football anymore, and instead he's started rowing ... it would explain why he thinks you win by going backwards.

Was poor yesterday, kept strollong around when not in possession and when he does get a ball he turns to a defender more often than not. Might be form but seems to struggle to spot the danger and react before it leads to a chance.

He didn't put vlasic clean through, he played it into him and vlasic rolled the defender. Gana was atrocious yesterday and should never be given the attacking midfield role ever again, but I'm sure I will see him again Thursday.

All the top teams have a great technical footballer alongside a defensive player in midfield. But our manager doesn't seem to think you need that.

Sorry I know it's the schneiderlin thread.

Great, collective moan about our defensive midfield not doing more as an alternate number 10. People are now demanding they create more, run more, attempt more through balls, shoot more.

I wonder what our actual number 10s is doing all along.

Scoring the goals responsible for 5 of our 8 points fortunately

Nah just demanding our buffoon of a manager doesn't start with both of them every single game.

Him, or Gana. I rate both massively as well.

Both however dilute each others game and creates a vacuum in the middle of the park because they don't take ownership of a role they're more than capable of doing, and both aren't good enough on the ball to make a difference going forward.

Only both when we're against a top, top team or up against it/defending a lead.
