I don't think we ever really know what was going on in someones head, but, he was a fine player last season, and has finished this season very strongly and that's after getting abuse from his own fans, many others would have hid, morgan stood up, and we have few enough of people capable of doing that
It was very admirable to come back from that. I wrote him off as most players will lobby for a way out once they have lost the fans the way he did. He can’t have another half-season streak like that if we want to be competitive though. Hopefully he has sorted out whatever was wrong with his head for good.

Out.

A player who for 75% of the season cannot be arsed is not good enough. I can no longer trust this coward. And its not like he is better than Gueye in regaining possession. We need to change our center mid philosophy. 1 DM at home with a defined role of protecting the 20 yards infront of our box should be enough. The other CM needs to be one who actually can pass it forward and does not panic in possession once 2 opposition players converge on him.

I think Schneiderlin has definitely upped his game over the past 3-4 games.

Which is great, because it lets us sell him for a bigger fee. Because the reality is, theres no way you can afford to trust him anymore that hes going to put in the effort next season. Right now we have Gueye and Beni that can both fill that role, as well as Davies in a pinch. Hes the odd man out even if he was reliable, which hes not.

I don't understand why we play him deeper than Gana when from what I see their roles should be reversed as Schneids is somewhat better in tight knit ball control situations.

Been great in last few games. Can't really tell if that's a good or bad thing in the long run.

People keep saying Gana could play Schneids role in the midfield, but thats obviously a false statement. Gana does not have the eye nor passing needed for Schneids role.

Understandably, there'll be those amongst our fan base who still want him gone, so any improved performances will increase his resale value.

Myself, I think there's still a role for Morgan here as he's beginning to once play again like he did when he first came, which for me was good.

What we require is a player who can work with Morgan or Gana and will be able to play the ball out of midfield: it's neither of their strengths.

No discipline to play that role, you can't just run around randomly doing flash slideys, pleased to see our more observant fans spotting this

He even got forward at times yesterday. Looks kind of decent when he does so, but without reliable CBs keeping a high line it just leaves space for a counter. Perhaps with a better central defence and a high line style (similar to city?) we could see a different Morgs.
