I agree on this, however I do think Gomes is a much better player then we have seen, he has just started the season badly.
Just like Siggy and Richarlison have been terrible but played brilliant against Wolves, they have got theres seasons going, Gomes I'm sure will do the same soon.
You can just picture Silva's face when he realised he had to play Schneiderlin.

Both seasons under Silva he’s started in the team and been dropped within a few games.
I`d wager that if Gbamin hadn`t got injured early doors, the club would`ve tried to punt Schneiderlin and he was only taken off the market due to the injury to Gbamin.

He was getting linked with Turkish clubs on loan.
To give him some credit, he doesn`t appear to have downed tools, which he could`ve very easily done.
I don't think he was so much dropped, more that he was unexpectedly forced into the team in the first place because there was nobody else.
