Meanwhile, Moyes has revealed he does not know how much money the Everton board will sanction him to spend in the summer but admitted he feels he may need to break the club's transfer record if they are to build on the success of this season.
He said: "I thought qualifying for the Champions League [in 2005] would have made us more appealing but in the end we didn't have the money to attract the players. Last year we added one £15 million player and maybe if we are serious we are going to have to get a few of those."

Love it

This summer I'm hoping our targets are realistic, stick to players in our price range instead of going for one massive signing like a Fellaini or a Moutinho. The squad needs touching up with quite a few players.

I don't think this is true. We have the most horrendous injury problems in the league, but we've come through at every stage. The squad is actually pretty strong at this stage. Yes, other teams have larger squads, but when those extra players are the quality of Diaby, Lucas, Shorey etc. then you realise it's not worth too much.

Remember squad players get paid too. If we buy an average player and he's on £30k a week, that's £1.5m a year. If we buy say 3 of them, that's £4.5m a year. That's £4.5m less to spend on transfer every single year. Even if we get really average players (what's the point of that?) and they only want £15k, thats still £2.5m less on transfers.
