At what point do we accept that bringing him on as a sub is completely ineffectual. We do it to give the lad some minutes rather than any possibility he will affect the game.

We aren’t good enough to keep doing that.

No. When a manager puts a team sheet up and a player is not in the first 11 he tells the player he's not in the team. He's a sub.
Sub for Everton sub for italy.
Very pedantic view. I'd definitely class all the subs as being part of the team.
If your name is on the team sheet that's submitted to the ref before the game then you're in the team. That team sheet includes subs.

I know mate I'm not having a go at him for doing it like.

Just saying, not sure we can use him being on his own as an excuse for his poor form considering he was literally disciplined by the club for having company
I wouldn't say it's a direct excuse for his poor form, but more for a possible fragile mental state. Also the reason for the links for the return to Italy.
I have not been able to return home since March to see my friends and family, it's not an easy thing to handle.
Although I have spent a lot of time away from home over the last few years, going from being able to hop on a flight for a couple of hours and going to home for the weekend, to not having that option at all, hasn't been easy.

I know it was pedantic. Thats why i said it.

Not been home since Feb myself mate, and still cant go home now because I'd have to quarantine for 2 weeks on arrival in UK making the whole trip pointless.

So yeah fair enough, can understand how Moise might be feeling. Even all the millions in the world don't compensate for stuff like that

He must have thought he was a big fish in a small pond and we were lucky to have him so it’s a bruised ego I think he has the hump over.

Ive been thinking that for a while. All this i hope he's still happy with us blah blah blah.
If he hasnt settled in england then he hasnt settled. Can live with that.
But in the grand scheme of things hes payed a fortune. Moody attitude against salford didnt sit well with me. He's easly replaceable.
Show us you want to be here. Not the other way around.

This is the issue in a nutshell for me. When he starts the limitations in his all round game are painfully apparent, but when he comes on as a sub he doesn't seem capable of making an impact. It's nothing to do with how he might develop in the long term as far as i'm concerned, it's simply that we can't afford for our 'first change' attacking player to be as ineffective as he is. If there was a way of ensuring the team doesn't suffer in the short term and allowing him to develop then I'd be all for it, but I can't see what that would be at the moment.

Sorry to here that dude. Where are you based?
Here in Switzerland i have been very lucky tbf, and haven't had to deal with a lockdown of any sort, and have been able to keep my head down and just work.
Gonna be pissed if i can't get back for a proper British Christmas though.

He will undoubtedly start against Fleetwood and that will be a bigger test than Salford. We will have to be decent to beat them.
Kean, along with whoever else will be playing will need to be at their best.
After being taken off early on Saturday I think Dourcoure may well start as well.

Probably taken off as he was booked.
The midfield v salford should still be enough against fleetwood. Though i agree much tougher game. But not a bad thing. Those who saw themselves as walking into the first team last season now have to roll their sleeves up and fight.

It feels like "now or never" for this lad. We have players like Gomes and Siggy that seem to be upping their game in response to the elevated quality of their teammates/competition and that's what I desperately want to see from Kean.

At the moment, though - and I know it is very early days - he just looks sulky and not all that bothered. Salford was a great opportunity for him but he looked flat and still had a gob like a robber's dog when he scored his pen.

If Don Carlo can't get through to him, nobody can. I imagine he's got until Oct 5th latest to show he wants to be part of "The Project" otherwise he'll be off to warm Juve's bench and we'll get a new striker to be excited by/disappointed in.
