2020/21 Moise Kean

Even if we gave Moise Kean another twelve months he'd still only be 21 yrs old or so. The only problem is he's not going to develop too much playing a few minutes here and there from the bench; we're not going to drop Dominic Calvert-Lewin to accommodate the guy, so he needs to make the most of the starts he gets in our cup games.

And there you have the reason why he will probably leave.

He wont improve on the bench, so in 12months he could have played another 5 games and scored another 2 goals and he's still the 19-year-old we signed.

Which is probably why we will move him on.

Let him rot on Juves bench.

He performed in Italy. Sometimes a move just doesn’t work out for whatever reason.
Moving countries when young and struggling in a new coulture is a thing and a risk we have taken. Life issues outside work do affect performance.
Ive seen glimpses of a player, but not enough. He was an odd signing, and clearly part of a Brands plan to develop and trade up. It hasnt worked and it looks like he wants out. The best thing is to get the best deal for him so we can reinvest,or at least make money while he still has value in Italy.
We need to be more considered with this sort of purchase in future, he wasn’t really needed. Last summers recruitment was disastrous and did nothing to strengthen the squad. Punts on players like him need to be for lower In value So we don’t lose out if they don’t work out.
Didn’t he make just 13 appearances in Italy? I mean looking back. It was a lot of money for someone who had played so little.

He needs games. We need a back up striker who doesn’t need to develop his game, can just come on/in and do a job. It just doesn’t fit right now.
A loan is the best option usually for this situation but his reputation/ego doesn’t seem to be apt for a move to a championship side, which is exactly what he should be doing, should he want a career in English football. A loan abroad would just be a loan before he eventually moves. It’s not an ideal situation for either the club or him right now.

This.
He isn’t making a difference off the bench either, so his chances will be limited. Odd signing, may have worked in Holland, but PL is too hard. For the price we paid, he either had to be PL ready, or an absolute dead cert to come good.
He is neither really at present.

Mad that people are happy to sell him to one of the best clubs in the world, but don’t think he will be good enough for Everton.
And they forget that he's still getting picked for the Italy national team as well
Nobody's forgetting anything and nothing about it is mad. Nobody thinks Sandro should be given another go do they, or that we should have kept Klaassen? It's the same thing. Rightly or wrongly, some people don't think it's worth keeping him because he isn't performing for us. Whether he's a talented footballer is neither here or there in that argument to be honest. Sometimes things don't work out, and while I haven't completely given up on him just yet I can totally understand why people have.

When is he going to come good playing the odd 15-20 minutes and cup game against poor opposition though? He’s not getting in ahead of DCL and he’s not yet good enough to fill in if DCL got injured. I’ve always said I’d rather keep him (that opinion is rapidly changing however) but I’d totally understand if we sold him

Well maybe it's like leaving Goodison on 90 minutes, quite a few years ago, when 1-3 down to Man U, only to tell from the roars that we drew 3-3 by the end. On the other hand, maybe its like turning down a seat on a Titanic lifeboat because you think everything will soon be alright. I genuinely, genuinely, don't know.

That's fair enough. But the lad is a 20-year-old with a lot of potential.

He has not shown that enough, I agree, but there have been glimpses.

We worked so hard to get him here, and he's signed a long-term deal, which - combined with his age - gives us wiggle room financially.

Just don't think we need to be calling it after a season in a mostly crap side.
