2020/21 Moise Kean

When is he going to come good playing the odd 15-20 minutes and cup game against poor opposition though? He’s not getting in ahead of DCL and he’s not yet good enough to fill in if DCL got injured. I’ve always said I’d rather keep him (that opinion is rapidly changing however) but I’d totally understand if we sold him

Surely the actual way forward is to get a player of real quality who can play on the wing.

That frees up Richarlison to move central and fill in for Dom if needed, with that other wide player being there.

You then have Kean working as part of a unit with 3-4 other quality attacking players. That's how you build a squad.

And how is that giving Moise Kean games? I am more than aware of how to build a squad.

Last year must have been very tough for him mentally. He's still very young, not playing and during lockdown i think he spent a lot of time confined on his own. Hopefully he can kick-on against Fleetwood. Selling or loaning out is just not an option for me.

Atleast Richarlison can back it up mate.

If you're gonna be snarling then walk the walk whereas him doing his best Pogba resting biatch face impression whilst strolling around the pitch doing rabona's in the penalty area just makes him look daft.

Im not fussed if he stays or goes tbh but think we are desperate for another CF - we literally have no goals off the bench.

Yearh but he still needs time and service mate we shall see

It helps that when he does get games the pressure isn't fully on him to be as good as DCL right away. It gives us options. It means that in the games he comes in with a rotated squad, the drop off in quality around him isn't so great.

That's surely how a young striker benefits? Coming into a team with better players? Rather than it being 'it's all on you or we're screwed'.

Except for when he was being disciplined for hosting house parties like lol

Yeah and that will be one of the reasons why his performances for Juve were better than they have been here (amongst many reasons like).

But as a young striker if you're coming off the bench when your team is winning comfortably there's little to no pressure on you and you can go and express yourself.

Thats very different to coming on in a tight game when you're expected to either make the difference if were chasing the game, or not do anything stupid (ie giving the ball away cheaply) if were winning.

IMO he looks like he suffers from that, when he comes on he tries too hard and doesn't relax and play his game. His better performances have come when hes started (Salford aside)

I agree.

People will pick out the rabona the other day but he had the confidence to try it and in that situation, at 5-2 up, it's absolutely fine.

The issue comes when/if he tries that when we're 1-0 up or needing a goal etc in the dying minutes.

My main plus is every game he's started, he's getting chances. He's in the right places. He should have scored that first chance v Salford but he got his goal with the pen. Three starts, three goals in 2020. Hopefully he can keep that run going on Wednesday and also have a better all-round display.
