If it makes you feel any better, you guys are still much better than LA. LD's (hopefully short-term) injury is a major blow - bigger than I think people expected. The team looks offensively toothless right now. Sigh. Our defense is keeping us in it right now - we need LD back bad. And better options upfront. Magee & Barrett aren't exactly striking fear in the hearts of anyone.

Can't wait for the return game in Colorado - should be a great one.

I have ticketes for both the LA and RSL game in Denver. Going to be fun. LA and Seattle need to find some Goals
 

Was at the Toronto FC - LA Galaxy game last night. Beckham had a poor game, and Angel, but then so did most others. Toronto's actually playing some decent football in patches for the first time since expansion - we call it the "Winterization" of TFC.

But...and this is a recurring theme in MLS.....the worst perfirmance by far was that of the ref. No impact on the result, but I'm afraid unless and and until MLS does something about the standard of reffing, this will always be a bush league.

Personally I was pleased LD was unavailable, it would have been difficult hearing the crowd booing him now - before he played for us I was one of them of course.

Is anyone else annoyed with the free kick paint? I know it's been around in other leagues and read it may be used in the next WC, thoughts?

Actually I like it - it reduces the time wasted on FKs when the ref gradually edges the wall back 10 yards. Also prevents the subtle moving up a foot when the ref turns away for a sec.
 
The Union conceaded an equalizer in stoppage time yesterday, thought we were going to collect all 3 points. Bad weather added to the dissapointment.
 

Just got a tweet from @ortizkicks who covers the Dynamo for the Houston Chronicle... he says the Dynamo are essentially set to announce a deal to play Bolton in the Dynamo Charities Cup this summer.... I'm guessing this will make it unlikely we will play Everton....bummed... wonder if Holden will be ready for this match...

Will hold out hope of miracle that Everton makes it somewhere close to Houston.....

I will be at the Dynamo game today against New England. Let's go Orange!

Then who the heck else is Everton playing? This is so bizarro that it's taking so long. Everyone else has announced, what is taking us so long to pick another MLS team? Is it really that hard? (honestly bewildered) And many (good & large fan base) MLS teams have been taken up in the month of July now, so things better get moving:

Dynamo - Bolton
DC United - Everton
LA Galaxy - Real Madrid
Sounders - Man U
Fire - Man U
Sporting KC - Newcastle
Crew - Newcastle
Vancouver - Man City

Man City has two more dates to announce as well. Teams that are left: Earthquakes, Chivas, New England Revs, Timbers, Union, NYRB, Real Salt Lake, Colorado, FC Dallas, Toronto FC.

Real Salt Lake, NY or Colorado would be a good test for us. Portland would sell a whole lotta tickets.
