I was at a Blue Jays game in the Sky Dome against the White Sox back in 95 a day after we beat Blackburn in the Charity Shield iirc.

Stadium was about half full and the one thing i remember is another Everton fans from Wales was sitting in front of me that spotted my Everton kit.

Boring game that ended either 1-0 or 2-1 to the Blue Jays.

That's the only thing i can contribute to this thread and I shall bore you guys no more.

Some things never change.

Call me critical, but if you rememver, if, like me, you've kept a close eye on the whole of this thread you'll know that I just dont rate jeurys Familia.

He just isn't good enough. Blew it for us last season and he's done it again tonight.
51 saves are all well and good, but when the going gets tough... he's well and truly nowhere to be seen.

On a more upbeat level, very very proud of my Mets. Mid august, we'd been written off, all the pitchers were out, star players out. So to even get this far was HUGE! So well done Terry Collins, and especially Lugo and Gsellman, who devastatingly may never see a better chance to reach post season.
Gave up one home run all season and then does that last night. I can't trust him. Then again, I still probably have the leftover scars from the Benitez years where I wouldn't even trust Mariano Rivera in his prime! That being said, that ump was garbage. Reed and Familia were getting massively squeezed on the bottom half of the strike zone. Hope the Cubs sweep the Giants

We're in Cleveland for a friend's wedding this weekend so I thought I'd take advantage of some playoff baseball. My fiancé and I scored free tickets to last night's game. It is a really nice stadium and the weather was absolutely amazing (temps in the 80s). We did find out the hard way that areas in Cleveland get very dangerous very fast, but we still had great time. Highly recommend a trip there for a baseball game.

Now that we've been eliminated (Mets) I really want the cubs to win it. Who cares if the back to the future prediction is a year late. If not the cubs then the Indians, Major League I and II were 2 of my favourite films as a kid.

But yeah it's a hard pill to swallow with familia, at times he really did step up and the 51 saves are a big reason we got to we're we did. I honestly thought Noah could have pitched the whole game. To get shutout by someone called Bumgarner or whatever he's called is heartbreaking. Wasn't that kids name from the film 'rookie of the year'?

Checked stubhub for tonight's game 5. Only $40 for standing room only, can get a seat for game 5 for less than $50.
Was over $140 for similar tix for the Mets/Giants WC playoff.
Note to @mezzrow and other Cubs fans. May find some cheap tix if the Nats win

Sake Familia. Just watched the whole game for it to end like that.

Being fair that Bumgarner (LOL BUM) looks a fantastic pitcher. The way he managed Cespedes was impressive.
Has a great track record pitching in the playoffs (until his last start v. the Cubs). Really missed Murphy in that game and Conforto hasn't come on. Need some bats for next year but still hard not to be optimistic. With this pitching staff, the Mets have a great shot going forward
