Michael Conforto has been so hot at present. Infact walker, Yo, Geanderson have all been sensational.

Most of them have! This last 13 or so games have been a joy. Even last night, when DeGrom had a wobble (can't believe I'm saying wobble at 2h 3r over 6 innings, but 4 walks was concerning!) and we still came through! The mets of 5-6 years ago would have fell apart as soon as Degrom came out. Yet surprise package of the season Jim Henderson carried on being strong, as did hansel Robles, heck! Even if we don't get as far as we did last year, it's a pleasure having such a consistent bullpen for the first time in... Well... Ever!
Let's go mets! Wish this home stint didn't have to end!

Baby Bears looking sharp for the PGH roadtrip in the new home clubhouse at Wrigley...

Got to hand it to Rizzo sporting the polka dots with the red shorts.

The fashion plates you see above had a great start to the series in Pittsburgh - two decisive wins. Last night Jake Arrieta becomes the first Cubs pitcher to win his first six starts since Mordecai "Three-Finger" Brown did it back in 1908. Brown started 11 - 0, by the way. I could live with a replay of 1908, you know.

Cubs now 19 - 6 through the first 25. Go figure. The Pirates are better than what we've seen the past two games, and they'll get a shot at Jon Lester today. We couldn't sweep them, could we?

It's still early. Very early.

No matter who you support, you have to be interested in the four-game series upcoming with the Cubs v Nats at Wrigley if you like baseball. There's a night game on Thursday followed by three day games. I hope the weather cooperates. Grateful and amazed at the sweep, and waiting to see what comes next. Great pitching and defense to come, I suspect. Winning some more would be nice.

Here's more of the adventure that is Jon Lester in the field. Same thing happened last year.

Read somewhere that the Cubs had the third best run differential since 1900 through 25 games

Settling in here for the 2:20 EDT start with the Nats...

Yep, the numbers are just amazing, and are a combination of scoring, pitching, and defense.

Details below at 538, of course. Cubs currently at +96 after last night, W 21 L 6. You remember that '03 Yankees team. They were pretty good, but the regular season don't mean squat in October after it starts - the same team that broke my heart broke theirs. (faces southeast, waves fist)

That said, I'm going to enjoy this as much as I can. The key is getting and staying healthy at this point.

Wind's blowing out. Watch this if you can, there will be lots of runs. It's on everywhere. Too late to bet the over...

Six already - 4 - 2, Cubs up. There will be more.

That move to the NL central has hurt. Guess that's what you get when your team is owned by a used car salesman

Bud wanted his rivalry, Bud got his rivalry. Thanks for the great park and excellent food, Bud!

Zip in, zip out, it's not like going to Moscow, it's Wisconsin!!

Can you connect Rocky Colavito to the Milwaukee Brewers? I can. @Garrick should play along as well.

"If you know your history..."

Here's a hint - it has something to do with Brewers managers.

I actually had no idea Harvey Kuenn was on the other side of the Curse of Rocky Colavito until you forced me to look it up just now.

Also in fun Brewers-related trivia, the club has only ever had two legitimate shots at the pennant, 1982 and 2011.

Both times it was ended by the same club, despite one being a World Series and the other being a league championship.
