News: Body found about a mile downstream from her last seen whereabouts. It'll have been awful cold. If it is her, then that's now a family with no mum. Those poor two young girls, and whats likely a very young widower. I hope the twots at gb news are proud of themselves.

If she’s gone into icy water, she may have suffered respiratory failure - cold water shock. This can eventually lead to cardiac arrest due to the shock.

Even the most competent swimmer can suffer in extreme cold.

Exactly. That loud gammon of a dive expert is going to look very bad if this is all true. First he was shouting to the world to let his team of experts in, then he did his stuff and declared the river clear, had a further pop at the police and it seems he was wrong on both counts.
