That's more when an actual crime has been committed and "information" can lead to an actual conviction of sorts.
Both I think. Plus this could easily be a crime! If my wife was missing and had been gone for 3 weeks, I'd be putting up a reward in the hope it might tempt somebody into giving information if they're hiding something that could lead to her being found.

That's very true although the Police seem very sure it's not. The whole thing is just very odd, none of it makes any real sense.

This article says the family weren’t happy with the release of the information but were aware of it before it happened. Pertinent quote in this for me is where it says people were ready to sell stories about her. That’s about as scummy as it gets and might explain why the police released the information to get ahead of a tabloid releasing a story about her issues.

Cost of living is one thing but you must be a proper piece of work if you want to sell stories about someone given the background to this. Friends, neighbours, whoever it is I hope the Police are planning on asking them what they thought they would achieve by it.

£££

lowest denominator stuff, "I'm alright Jack..."

That’s in relation to the earlier incident not the search.

I know but the police have been acting strangely since she went missing.

Now they admit they had contact with her before she went missing, regardless of what the incident was. Wouldnt be suprised if they were covering something up, like another Wayne Couzens.

The thing is though these people are still going to sell their stories it just means the gutter press will now want to put more meat on the bones, just selling a story saying she liked a bevy isn't going to cut it
For me if the woman is alive and hiding out then after the police revelations she surely is much less likely to come back after the character assination.
