It makes you wonder, doesn't it? What I find perplexing is that most people are silent on the tube, but most people are noisy on trains. Why the significant difference in behaviour? What happens when tube carriages go above ground, or mainline trains go into tunnels?

Haha maybe it's because of the effect it has on mobile signal? They see full signal as carte blanche to call someone and broadcast their private affairs to anyone within 3 carriages of them.
