Apparently putting aftershave on it dries it out and helps to get rid of it. Stings like a bitch though.

That could possibly have been some poor advice, though.

This works if you catch it early enough. Failing that, try a paste made out of red hot chilli sauce, lemon juice and salt, never fails.
