I'm not sure this is a minor thing, actually.

I really find it distasteful that the moment Hallowe'en has passed, all advertising and marketing immediately shifts to Christmas, despite the fact that Remembrance Sunday is clearly marked on the calendar. It would do many people in this country well to actually spend those few days NOT mindlessly obeying the demands of consumerism.
