There's no guarantee of success but the alternative is stagnation which is what we've been in for four years now so that's long enough. Everton have a history of winning trophies throughout their history. Eighteen years is too long.

This a squillion times.

That's usually the yardstick for determining a manager's success in fairness mate.

The two go hand in hand. Sunderland don't expect to win the league every year because of their spending, for example.

We as a fanbase need to accept that financially we're goosed, and without new owners or investment there is never going to be a noticeable improvement in league position or the trophy cabinet.

Arsenal have been playing boss football for years and even they can't win a trophy, we have no divine right to win things.

Eh? It's his job ffs. Ideally, he'll employ headhunters to find an adventurous rousing attack-minded young continental.

We have to steer well clear of the merry-go-round (Jol, Hughes, McCarthy, McLeish, Bruce, Dowie etc). And sticking with the old boys (Neville, Stubbs, even Dunc) is also hardly gonna help us improve.

Bring someone completely fresh in that many of us have never even heard of (after all, who had heard of Moyes while he was at Preston?).

BK has the funds to employ headhunting specialists...I hope he uses them.

Yeah, because Kenwright has been doing his job as chairman brilliantly for the past thirteen years.

There is more to the Everton job than the performance on the pitch.

Moyes' transfers have kept the club going for years. Brendan Rodgers may well be a good manager, but we could not afford to spunk £25m on Fabio Borini and Joe Allen. For half that Moyes got us Gibson, Mirallas, and Oviedo.

Mate, whats the point of him getting us boss players if he's incapable of using them to win us something. Most managers cut thier cloth accordingly.

Rodgers weren't trying to spend 12m on young strikers at Swansea he was getting players like Sigurddson in for 6m. If the next fella comes in and gets a slightly lower calibre of player but gets more out of them the end result is the same.

If yesterday hasn't proven he's not going to win us a trophy then I don't know what will. I want a manager that plays to win and can relay that to our side when it matters. We won't fold when he goes.

Maybe just maybe some of the fans including me want him out because of the dire football that is served up 90% of the time

We played well the first few months of the season but god knows whats happened since then

Moyes has played the same football for 11 years, Ball over the top to a big man or into the channels for the striker to chase down

Maybe people just want to see us go out to beat teams instead of bottling it when it matters

Honest question.

Hand on heart.

Was the team that Moyes selected good enough to beat Wigan?

We all know the result and we all know he should have picked Gibson instead of Neville, but please, explain how Moyes picked a side to lose?

He gave us Moyes, which was the right decision at the time...only the last 2 or 3 years he's been found wanting.

He's also provided us with a certain financial stability which is the envy of sorry clubs like Leeds & Portsmouth.

Kenwright's far from perfect, but he's not the incompetent he's painted to be either.

He is tho.

There you go moving the goalposts sunset head.

Just admit I pulled your little y front down firmly in a non yewtree way on this point and we can all move on.

You have a poor concept of Everton and what we stand for. It will come to you in time, it's not your fault though.

If we had the finances to back taking a risk i'd be all for it mate, but we just don't.

If Liverpool get a new manager in and he's crap, or doesn't win them trophies, then they can sack him and spunk some more money up the wall. Rodgers has spent £50m already.

If Everton get a new manager in and give him the proceeds from selling Fellaini, then that money will have to be spent well, or the s**t starts to hit the fan. Half of our starting eleven will need replacing within the next 4-5 years, doing that on meagre funds is no easy feat.

Believe me, i don't think Moyes is a genius, i just think he's our best option.

So its down to Martinez then.
Tactics.

Unfortunately not. You know perfectly well that the manager needs to perform in the transfer market for us to stay afloat.
