Mina vs zouma

Had zouma ever played right back? He wouldn’t offer much going forward but we’d be solid at the back.

Edit/ apparently he used to be a right winger as a youth - I can’t imagine him being very good there.

Mourinho used him at right back a few times as well.

Mina is the obvious choice! Come the end of the season we won't have Zouma so why wouldn't we concentrate on developing a good relationship between Mina and Keane?

Has to be Mina and Zouma if we are going with two CBs Keane has improved, but then he is coming from a low base level.Because he can be turned easily he'll always have the potential to be found out by top sides.

To be honest mate if there is one place on the pitch we dont need to sign anyone its at CB, not when there are certain areas that do need to be addressed, RB and striker for example, we should be fine for at least 2 more windows at CB, especially if we can keep Zouma as 3rd choice

I think its a position to look at in the summer rather than Jan....Jan has to be players for the right side

Mina starts.. every time. I like seeing the boy Keane alongside him being English, but if he drops his std at all Zouma comes back in. Keane may need to even lift his level more which is the best he has been since joining. Don’t forget we have not defended corners and free kicks into the box as well in any other game this season.. so this is the partnership to stay now until one messes up.

We have potentially the best CB pairing since Jags/Lescott.

Syphilis?

I think it should be defo Zouma-Mina from now on. Both are completing each other. Keane is 3rd one, he will have his chances when we switch to 3-5-2 or if any of the two get banned or smth. From the beginning, we bought them to start anyway, so the answer is clear, Zouma-Mina. We will concede very few goals. I trust them.

I feel confident that if we need to put our backs to the wall and play 3 at the back, these 3 would be a solid defence to get past.

This is a great problem too have, who'd have thought it going into the season before we got Mina and Zouma I was dreading another car crash season, we had been made to look awful in pre season so to get Digne in as well was absolutely fantastic business, even better that they all seem to have settled in straight away.

As for the partnership, I don't like breaking up good partnerships and Zouma has not deserved to be dropped, Mina by all accounts was outstanding v Chelsea so I am interested to see what direction Silva goes in.

Can honestly say I don't think Keane does either, nice problem to have but not an easy one for the Manager!

Mina keeps his spot partnering Keane for me. It's hard luck for Zouma as he was only dropped because he had to be, but a clean sheet at Chelsea away and 90% passing accuracy means he should stay in the team - sends the wrong message otherwise!
