Had a lot of time for him as a player. Honest and always gave his all. Really sad to hear about his troubles which I didn't even know about. Being an ex-player from that era can't be easy.

I was just going to write exactly the same. I was 9 sitting in the Platt lane, my first derby. He went right through Smith who had been giving loads of abuse out all game. It was fantastic. Well done Mick. God Bless.
