I just want to say that Keane has been OK this season thus far. My problem with him is he is still caught out of position, doesn't read the game very well and if Evertonians think he shouldn't be replaced they are in cloud cuckoo land. He isn't as good as some think. He is OK and that is that.

He was coming back to position and was keeping an eye on Fernandes. He was doing his job, Gueye should have been able to do something else.

Gueye had time, Mbuemo is between him and Keane but Mbuemo presses him and Gueye does his silly slide pass to nobody panicking under pressure.

There was no clear pass on to Keane so he wasn't expecting the lay off under panic from Gana and was in the middle of looking back to see where Fernandes was.

Personally would say he was lazily assuming his teammate would just hoof it clear. Keeping an eye on your opponent isn’t a necessary task when you’re the closest player to your teammate in possession. He’s only a threat if you don’t do your job with the ball first as Keane did.
