2025/26 Michael Vincent Keane

Depends on cost - but if yes reasonable money and it saves cash for another position.

Is Stones at his age a starter ahead of Jake, Jarrad and Tarks ? Again, just depends on cost .

Hearing Stones is in the picture.

Happy to see Keane roll if so.

Equally if Keane and Tarks go in 1-2 seasons max as backups for o brien and JB in the interim, fine.

Full backs are where we fall to hurt teams and blunt out forward play.

That a functioning no.10 and a decent CF is what willl (or won't , if not fixed) cement is in upper half / Europe places.
Stoned,Keane. Which one is the more injury prone...

Why would anyone not want keane
to stay hes been brilliant this season when called upon in the 3rd best defence in the league. Keane and tarky are the new weir and stubbs and we could use them both for another 5-6 years even if they become backup. Moyes will see it that way too. It ticks all the boxes.

Moyes would never swap Keane for Stones with their respective injury records, just wouldnt make much sense and would cost significantly more.
Up until a couple of years ago I'd have been desperate for him out of the club but he's really turned it around and even before Moyes came back was more consistent than Tarkowski who was, for a time, veering from immense to borderline diabolical in some games.

I think 'brilliant' would be an exaggeration but he's been solid and with the added bonus of being seemingly happy in a rotation role.

If the primary job is to defend then Stones would be fifth choice. I want the centrebacks to be good defenders first and foremost. In that scenario John Stones is not that good. He is also fragile. Keane any day above him for me. You can get away with Stones if the players ahead of him rarely lose possesion. Even City can't do prime City anymore. No thanks.

“I think he’s been amazing. First and foremost, how he gets on with everyone, how he treats everyone - he’s such a good person. I think everyone in the squad loves him as a person first and foremost.

“When it comes to the football side, I never realised how hard he works. He’s obsessed with football, the amount of detail he goes into when it comes to tactics, the day before a game. Set-pieces and then it’s like, if this doesn’t work we’re going to do this.

“There’s so much we go through and that’s all down to him. He must spend hours and hours watching clips and thinking of different solutions so, he’s been great. And he’s been really good for me as well, obviously. He’s put a lot of faith in me, and I like to think I’ve repaid that this season.

“I’ve really enjoyed it, I’m really happy and I’m loving working for him.”

This obviously didn’t apply when we had 10 corners against Utd right under the keepers crossbar that clearly wasn’t working.. no variation that night! Perhaps Moyes was poorly that week!

All these Everton media pushed pieces on Moyes usually mean one thing.

We'll lose the next game.
