2025/26 Michael Vincent Keane

It's mad that he's had his best season with us after his contract expired and the club likely wasn't 100% sure if they wanted to let him go or not.

He's been really good this season—the goals conceded stat tells the story: 8th in the table but conceded the 3rd fewest amount of goals.

He'll obviously be here best season and nobody should be gutted about that.

…..the latest to publicly credit Moyes for his upturn in form;

at some point from a business perspective a decision has to be made on whether to keep renewing the contract of a high earner or sign a good replacement on lower wages in the summer

for example if we are able to sign senesi on a free on lower wages than keane is currently on then from a business perspective its a no brainer

wish keane all the best but he's not a regular starter unless we have injuries so i don't think we can justify his high wage demands

not his fault because it was stupid of us to offer him those high wages in the first place but now with the new owners i think they are very business savvy

He actually made me analyse my behaviour online and look in the mirror.

Some of my posts in regards to him were disgraceful.

Am glad he shut me up.

He's been excellent this season.
He`s been our most consistent CB this season, mainly done to Tarks making so many mistakes, O`Brien being played at RB and Branners being injured. We need to look for a new CB and look at replacing Tarks or Keane not getting a new contract ready for a player that has played so poorly up until this season.

….i like the fact we’ve got Tarkowski/Keane/Branthwaite/O’Brien as a good mix in the short-term. Given the high standards of all four, I’d certainly be happy with them for another season.

I agree eggs. It's difficult to argue with Keane's form this season he's been eggscellent.

The only thing is that the lack of pace of him , Tarky and to a lesser extent O'Brien massively restricts how we can play.

…..you’d be thinking the future is O’Brien/Branthwaite with decent pace, but defensive quality is also vital and we’re in a strong position with the four we have.

It’s almost as if it’s no bother which combination start, Keane/O’Brien coped really well at Arsenal. It’s a similar situation in central midfield where Iroegbunam (during AFCON) and Rohl (at Villa) have provided more than adequate cover.

It’s a quality squad if that can be replicated in all areas of the team.

He's fine as a squad player. Always has been.

I'm not sure he's still on the wages that he was given under Ancelotti (about 70k a week), but if he is, then he's been well worth it this season, and I wouldn't begrudge him another season at that rate, which I don't think he'd get anywhere else.

I agree that we should try to get that Senesi on a free, and I'm not averse to us having five centre backs for a season, especially if that season involves playing in Europe.

It's called growth . I could do with a bit myself . My dislike of Keggers is now more illogical than a Dyche attacking tactic .
