2025/26 Michael Vincent Keane

I stick to It was always a red for me, but not a 3 game ban. It's just the inconsistency that we seem to get punished more than others for same thing and any other incidents
Same here. I thought it was definitely deliberate, could have been a yellow, could have been a red, but I was convinced it would be cut down to a one-game ban.

Now we get to experience Virgil Van Kneeless sarcastically applauding decisions for every one of the next 17 games with zero action being taken.

I’m not surprised it’s not been overturned. It may be soft and it may be semantics (around violent conduct being when challenging for a ball or not), but he did pull the hair which is something directly specified within the guidance. (Im not going to be convinced he doesn’t know the difference about when he is holding hair compared to a shirt so the ‘he didn’t know’ argument is weak).

The panel isn’t going to overturn it.

And compared to challenges people get away with, even within the same game, it is ridiculous.

But hopefully it forces Moyes into playing a more positive team and because JOB has more pace, we can play 5 yards further up the pitch.

Yep. I thought it would be cut to a 1 game ban as well

I'm still absolutely astonished people think it was a deliberate pre meditated action by Keane

I think it's clear as day he makes am instinctive decision to try grab the shirt while jumping for a header, and it's a complete accident. It all happens in under a second as well.

Some of the takes on this incident I've read from fans of other teams hurt my head as well

Why does it have to be premeditated?

If you grab hair, you let go. It’s not that hard. Do you not know the difference between hair and a polyester fabric?

People are saying he deliberately grabbed the hair. That means there must have been intent. You can't have a deliberate action without intent.

I cant understand the argument it was deliberate tbh. I think its as obvious an accident as you'll see. You could argue its still a bit clumsy, but that's not a red card offence.

The fact it all happened in under a second, and during a normal challenge for the ball, is really good evidence it was an accident as well.

Never getting overturned but glad it was appealed. Should have stuck a photo under their nose of Hwangs challenge and said thats why we're appealing. Just to clarify for future reference can an Everton player rake his studs down the back of an opposition players leg and VAR wont get involved.
And then stuck another photo of Van Dijk sarcastically applauding the ref and say while we're here. Why is one a card and the other not. Is it the colour of the shirt?

Yep 100%. The rules make it clear it’s not a red if you’re challenging for the ball, which Keane certainly was. It should’ve be overturned. Personally I’m glad he’s out for 3 games but that should be a decision for the manager. Disgraceful but are we surprised?
