2024/25 Michael Keane

….i doubt they’d be offered a deal with significant wage reduction unless it was for another 2 seasons.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if they were offered 12 months on similar terms because we’ll need numbers and both are settled at the club, Doucoure still a regular.
There's no way we can afford to pay Keane and Doucoure £100 k a week for another year. With signing on fees for all of our renewals or any frees plus transfer fees for anyone we sign we would fail psr

for me I can’t imagine one of the most experienced premier league managers in history chose a tactic because a reporter asked a question. for me it feels more likely that he watched his squad train over a number of weeks and felt Keane upfront for 5 mins was the best of a bad bunch .

You disagree and we’ve no way of knowing which of us is right , that’s the beauty of us chatting rubbish online . if you are right though I hope at the next press conference nobody suggestions playing Pickford as a holding midfielder or we’re in a world of pain !
Hes said people at the club kept telling him keanes one of the better finishers not the media?

Never mind affording it there’s no way we should be paying players of that standard anywhere near that money I’d rather bin bag them and put 2 youngsters in them positions.

Sherif didn’t get a go yesterday. Obviously not viewed as ready as we though Keane up top would do the trick ??
In this scenario, I think it has little to do with Sherif and more to do with only having a very limited time left. If you are playing to score quickly and cause chaos, Keane is the better choice because of his height and scoring ability. He is a proven finisher and an aerial threat. Odds are at this point, we aren't looking to play silky footy and thread the needle or anything. We were just throwing the kitchen sink because we had no choice. I doubt Moyes rates Sherif that much, but I think it had less to do with him and more to do with the scenario we were in.

Just thinking...we prob need 4 centre backs next year, tark Branthwaite obrien(bonus that he can play right back) so should we offer him a year on very reduced terms? A cheap back up...
