if we sign mina, I would genuinely try and sell him and get another CB in, he's not good enough and the longer he stays the more his value drops
Burnley in the market for a new defender. His style suits their system well. I'm sure he would welcome a return to Sean Dyche and, as we saw last night, his skill set is completely wrong for the high line we'll mostly be playing under Silva. Keane looks a broken man, as he did for most of last season, and I think he'll jump at the chance to end his misery at Goodison. If we can recoup half of what we bought him for I think it would be worth doing. Pretty certain Dyche would want him back.

It's the wages though, we'd have to take an even bigger hit on the price or pay his wages. That said he's not on completely stupid money and the market has swelled even since last summer so perhaps wouldn't be that painful.

I honestly think he'd accept a pay cut to go back there mate. Every time I see him he looks like he's going to burst into tears. He's clearly not enjoying his time here and he's probably scared shotless at the prospect of the high line we're going to be playing this season. That coupled with the knowledge that he'll be getting very little playing time this season.

I'd seriously sell him and Williams, bring in (hopefully) Mina and another, and have Jags as 4th choice.

definitely this, I think he would love to go back, less pressure and easier system to defend when you're as slow as he is

even if we get half of what we paid id sell him, I doubt it was 30 upfront anyway probably some clauses in there which he wont meet

get rid

Speaking of Mickey Keanes attributes, wer should list them.

1. Has good straight vision eyesight for a blind man
2. Good at hide and seek, my Aussie Sheppard dog would love to play games with him.
3. Agile enough that he can turn within 3-4 seconds
4. Able to put shoelaces on.

He isn't as bad as Tubby Williams though. 24m upfront, fair dinkum yibbers that

Beg to differ here....Williams for all his faults is twice the defender that Keane is unfortunately. Not a good yardstick I know, but Keane is the worst defender we’ve had here since Earl Barrett

Thus I agree with. When we are sitting deep and he doesn’t have to make decisions in space, think he’d be useful. Still good in the air, but if still dump him if someone would give us a decent fee. We’d lose money, but he’s just not great.

Good in the air.....sorry mate, you can’t have watched many games. The number of times I’ve come away from the match discussing his total inability to head a ball or time a header is significant.....it’s his biggest weakness and that’s saying something.

Think it's just Bolasie all over again where he suits certain teams/systems. Seems lost for us and confidence shattered to pieces.

It reminds me of when Gary Birtles went to United after being excellent for Nottingham Forest. He was a total and immeasurable flop. Everything he tried didn’t come off, and the more he tried the worse it got. I think it happens unfortunately - I’m a great believer that players suit teams and teams suit players. Great players can become ordinary in a different team, system or environment. I recall Stephen Hughes coming from Arsenal and Diniyar Biliyaletdinov from Russia.....both had been playing above themselves and came here and simply couldn’t make it work.

Yes to this!

He is so slow we have let better centre backs move than him .......

Just one of those signings you could tell would be a terrible flop.

I had bad feelings with this, Bolasie, Klaassen and Vlasic and Williams tbh.

I dunno, it's sad because it seemed pretty obvious.

Won't happen for the same reason we won't be able to sell Klaasen..

Keane was on 30k a week at Burnley.... With us he's on around 90k a week.....
Burnley will (wisely) come nowhere near meeting that kind of contract offer...no other club will either.... So unless its a loan deal where we pay atleast half his wages, Keane is going nowhere..
